It's time. It was one thing keeping up a house with two people - two incomes, shared responsibility of maintenance - but it's just gotten to be too expensive and too much work for me.

I want a chance to have some disposable income and the freedom of not having to worry about owning a home for a while. Plus, I'll be able to save some money.

I plan on staying in the Heights area, just not buying again. I might buy another house somewhere down the road, but just not interested in the hassle right now.

I am surprised, even needing updates, you are asking at that price. I would have thought 260-270 but I guess you will profit plenty either way and you just want to move.

    Good luck.

It still needs some repair - nothing major, just some typical wood rot from termite damage in a couple small spots (typical for an old house in the Heights) and there are a couple places where the laminate got some water damage. Again, all very minor and barely cosmetic, but whoever buys it will probably want to re-paint, do some work on the floors, re-model the kitchen, etc., so this is right in line with what other homes are going for in the area.

I'd like to get $260k, but, more than anything, I want to sell and get moved on. The sale will very likely wipe out every penny of my debt and leave me with some left over for moving expenses and a few minor extras. That's really what I want out of it.

    Jeff,

Just wanted to give you a heads up there is an extra 0 in your price. The comma is in the right spot but someone might think it's 2 million for it.

You could probably get a tin foil box in East Harlem.

Location is the main reason, as other poster mention it earlier.
