    Oriental is French for "Eastern." It is NOT a food. Asian American is a stupid catch-all. I guess Indians, Thai, Chinese, Mongols, Japanese, etc., would all fit under that heading. Pretty dumb. Proper nomenclature would be Japanese American, Chinese American, etc.

    The term "oriental" is usually used to describe food, rugs, crafts, etc....basically stuff from Asia. When you want to describe a person's race, you would use "Asian". I think that's what he was referring to.

    i been around a lot of indian girls here and a very very small portion date outside of their own race so not sure where you get that from

    Well since this thread already has quite a few stereotypes in it, let me throw this one out:

    Many black women are "strong willed" or "fiercely independent" while there are many men out there that do not want a woman like that. They would prefer a woman who is "mousy" or "meek". How many black women do you know that you can describe as "mousy" or "meek"?
