I keep hearing he's got shorter arms than would be expected. Is he a T-Rex? Does anyone know his actual wingspan? It looks like he's got some pretty long arms and who actually cares if his wingspan is 7'3" versus 7'6"!

Sorry if this has already been covered.

I believe that Yao Ming's wingspan is 7'4". That sounds pretty big but it's actually the same wingspan as 6'10" Nene Hilario and 6'9" Cedric Henderson. By comparision, 6'11" Samuel Dalembert has a 7'7" wingspan.

"He measured at 7-5 without shoes and 7-6 1/4 with shoes during his workout in Chicago. Ming weighed in at an impressive 296 pounds. He needs to add some upper body strength, but he is not a string bean like a Shawn Bradley, Manute Bol or Chuck Nevitt. He has a 7-4 3/4 wingspan and has a 9-7 vertical reach. "
