Luther Head, the combo guard who was recently bought out by the Houston Rockets, will sign with the Miami Heat, according to his agent.

Head will sign once he clears waivers Wednesday morning. He was courted by Dallas, New Jersey, Charlotte, Milwaukee and San Antonio but chose Miami because of the chance for playing time, the opportunity to make a nice playoff run and the possibility of staying with the Heat over the long haul.

Head averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 assists in 22 games with the Rockets this season.

I hope he does well there, he can play, in the right situation, but Wafer is better.

I wish him the best and hopefully he can drain some threes. It's been a while since he got significant playing time. Seemed like a nice guy too.

Considering he has distanced himself from Utah considerably, it will only help him.

Nice guy. Soft as a gummy head.

All the best to Luther. He had some good moments here - though not enough. Hopefully he can help Miami as a spot up shooter. And I think we'll see that he's isn't as bad a playoff performer as we thought now that he doesn't have to face Harpring/Korver in the first round.

A player I will follow closely (or try to).

Hopefully, he'll use his above average athletic ability to improve...

I'm still waiting for him to be more than a shooter.

Will Head get the starting job in Miami? Heat's PG is Mario Chalmers. ;)

Hmm....I don't really see how he's going to get any minutes considering that Luther and Daequan Cook are pretty much the same player. Having both seems rather redundant. Oh well, I suppose having depth never hurts.

Good for Luther. Miami seems to make good use of undersized 2 guards.

Hope he contributes in the long run.
