Rafer Alston has a playoff career fg% of 34%. Aaron Brooks was a rookie. Skip has had 9 years to become and average shooter and has yet to accomplish that feat

    Well, thats a joke

Gibson isnt their starting pg, Delonte West is, either way, both of them are better than Rafer. And the head to head matchups dont matter, Lebron is the most dominate player in the world.

Kenny must be on crack. If Orlando was 3rd with Nelson, they're not going to vault to 2nd with Rafer as the replacement. They may not fall, but they're certainly not going to leapfrog the Cavs.

It's amazing how both of you are dumbasses, Mo Williams is their starting PG, and Delonte West is their starting SG. And I agree, both of them are better than Alston

that being said, Alston will do better in Orlando than he did here

Whether or not it's Gibson or West... you have to know the how much better one player is than the other.

LeBron against Hedo's horrible defense? His career high is 56 right? Not so long...
Hedo is so horrible, that Wally Z. scored with ease.

And with Rafer's inconsistentcy, you'll never know if he'll be better than Gibson or West.

Not to mention Mikael Pietrus is not in the starting lineup anymore (I think) because of his shaky return from his injury.

The offensive threat from Mo Williams and LeBron is just  .

Only way Magic can beat Cavs IMO, is if they can hit their 3s at a high percentage EVERY single game. They are a team that lives and dies by the three. Rafer fits in perfectly with that. ;)

It's going to be funny comparing the diff. players 3pt Box Scores.

    Rashard Lewis: 3-6
    Hedo Turkoglu: 2-3
    Mikael Pietrus: 4-5
    Rafer Alston: 1-9

to be fair to the guy, he was just a player who got very little minutes under george karl for the first 2 times he played in the playoffs so those numbers could be better.

    but were the better team...

it always seemed to me Rafer... wanted to spot up and shoot.. rather than drive to the hoop...

which makes it better for us... if we hopfully meet in the playoffs ;)

since we suck at guards penetrating and defending it...

nope, it woulda been better by either not much or a lot

he didn't make any of his shots the first two times he made it to the playoffs, and attempted maybe like 3 or 4 shots? i don't know, check his stats. but i'm sure it's easy to improve on making 0% over the course of your career if you got enough playing time.

I dont get this kind of talk. Think I saw it mentioned but if Jameer Nelson didnt push them past the Cavs, how does Rafer all of a sudden do it?

I think Rafer reminds Kenny of himself.

Well It is true he does have a lot of weapons but it's all in their starting lineup. They really don't have a bench outside of Courtney Lee.

He does fit in well with the system since they run and gun and in my opinion Rafer fits in better there, but he is capable of playing grind it out halfcourt offense. I just think he fits in better in a high tempo system.

But to be fair, everybody on the Magic's starting lineup can do something impressive offensively.

Courtney Lee - Can shoot, move without the ball, attack to the basket, play defense

Hedo - Shoot the 3 ball, slash and drive, pass

Rashard - Shoot and has the most 3's made this season

    Dwight - Dunk, put-backs, tip-ins, just a complete beast.

So Rafer isn't lying, Magic are better offensively than us, however we are much better defensively. Stats may not show it, but I know that we are a better defensive team and we are a better overall team.

IMO... Making your teammates better is the rare attribute. Not shooting... Gnite...

Rafer should be compared to Daniel Gibson, not Mo Williams. Rafer is Anthony Johnson's backup. LOL
