where are you hearing this from? news radio reports out of SA this morning still had dave as "doubtful" and tim as "likely" to play in tonight's game.
Right here verse: http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2002/s/2002/0502/1377326.html Updated: May 3, 7:47 AM ET Spurs' big men both expected to play Friday -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ESPN.com news services SAN ANTONIO -- The Spurs will get their front line back for Friday's Game 5 against the SuperSonics, a team source told ESPN on Thursday. Tim Duncan and David Robinson will both be in the lineup for the deciding game of San Antonio's first-round series with Seattle. Duncan, who missed the Spurs' 91-79 loss in Game 4 after returning to the U.S. Virgin Islands after the death of his father, returned to San Antonio late Thursday night on a team-chartered flight, the source said. He arrived after 11 p.m. Robinson, who hasn't played since Game 1, had yoga workouts to stretch his back on Thursday and was feeling well enough to play. The series' winner will move on to play the Lakers in the second round.
I always got the feeling that the Spurs were resting him and saving him for a big game, like if they were down 2-1, the 2nd round against LA, or a Game 5.
I hope Seattle pulls it off. They seem to have the best mental toughness out of all the Western playoff teams. Plus they always play l.a. well. Come on Payton!!!
Oh well, pretty good season for the Sonics. Seattle easily exceeded expectations this year. They just played like crap today, and the Spurs took advantage. I'm not impressed with San Antonio. Lakers in five! Cat, e-mail me that signature.
