Whether you suspect it or not the criminal prosecution is completely independent from the impeachment and removal from office. The prosecutor might choose not press forward but legally he is under no obligation. That Blagojevich was removed from offense neither makes him more or less likely to be convicted.

The man was toxic - and impeached by a unanimous vote. If not a single senator was willing to come to his defense, should he really remain in office?

 

Yeah I don't really get what point you are trying to make either. Are you saying that since he was removed from office the prosecutor isn't going to bother with a trial?

There are criminal charges against Blagojevich and since you recognize that these are separate processes why do you think there won't be a criminal trial?

 

Blago is absolutely hilarious. His talk about cowboy movies, and what witnesses he thinks could clear him like John McCain is just priceless. I can't get enough of the guy. The guy is as ridiculous and funny as Palin is.

Palin and Blago are the two funniest things to happen to politics in the past five years.

 

It's weird. With basso defending Blago against otherwise unanimous scorn, you wouldn't think Blago was a democrat. Why the soft spot for a corrupt democrat?
