The Rockets are not going to be able to trade Rice so why even talk about that.

Now, Rice has had all of last offseason, most of the 2001-2002 season, and all of this upcoming offseason to get well. IF HE IS NOT 100% HEALTHY BY THE 2002-2003 SEASON, HE SHOULD BE THROWN TO THE WOLVES.

Glen Rice has no excuses. None of this lingering crap on any part of the body. If he is not healthy, the rockets should have the right to rip up his contract. Is that possible anyway? If he is not 100% healthy, it is his fault right? I expect him to start at the 3 and put up some numbers next season. The Rockets have to get something out of this trade.

How upset would you be as a die-hard fan if Glen Rice still has lingering injuries when training camp rolls around? I will be livid. I realize that he is old but, hey, he will have had 14 months to heal when 2002 traning camp starts.

You better not let us down Glen, or its your ass!

    I'm pissed.

There is no way the Rockets can "rip his contract" unless Rice somehow agrees to it.

I don't blame Glen Rice, but rather the Rockets. While I liked the trade, and still like it, the Rockets knew beforehand that Rice had injury issues. Unfortunately, the Rockets rolled the dice and got snake eyes.

    JB,

I feel your pain. But think how Phoenix must feel about Penny Hardaway. Or any of about 50 other examples.

JBIIRockets - A small piece of advice. Don't consider law as career.

Who do you think Minnesota would give us for him, Wally S. maybe? That would be a thumbs up!

    Jay,

That was a sarcastic statement. Cato gets bashed all the time, but at least he is on the floor. I get the feeling that some people give rice the benefit of the doubt because he is hurt.

By the way Hakeem just scored the buzzer beater at the end of the first qtr vs the pistons. Go dream!!

I didn't like the trade then and even less now.

If you bring in Oakley, he could have Rice "fixed". Actually, I expect a healthy Rice to contribute next season, too. Not 9 mil worth, but something along the lines of Air Bullard. Stupid Rox.
Sometimes I wouldn't mind Gambino Group called in for sanitation engineering. Of course, that's morally wrong. Hey Good Father, lay off that alter boy for a minute and help me out here. The temptation has me all confused.

That's all fake for effect, just in case you're clueless. Take a powder.

You know, did it ever cross your mind that the Pistons and the Rockets were maybe allowed to win because so much money was riding the other way? I'm sure Vegas cleaned up when Detroit beat LA, and the Rox beat NY. Prolly not really, just a nasty thought.

    In a cynical mood tonight.
