OMG - I am going insane!

    My next door neighbor's smoke detector alarm has been going off for the last 6 hours. I am going insane.

    My wife and I bought a townhouse recently and coincidentally just exchanged phone numbers with my neighbor this morning before he left for Chicago for the long weekend.

    Who would have though that 4 hours later his smoke detector starts going off. At first I was worried and walked around outside and looked through the windows and so on. I called my neighbor, whose phone number I had just gotten 4 hours earlier, and he proceeds to tell me his smoke detector has been malfunctioning. WTF?!?!?

    He has no family around to turn it off, and he is a 4 hour drive away. I am annoyed. I should have just called 911 first, they owuld have broken down the door and turned that **** off!

    I want to that, but I don't want to ruin the neighbor relationship this soon! I can survive until Sunday hopefully

    Its either me or the other neighbor that would have called. I got some great ear plugs, can't hear a thing. If the batteries haven't died when I wake up, I am calling the FD.
