3 stars, no leader

It's not a problem that we don't have a good player who deserves to be a leader, but that none of our good rosters is willing to be the leader.

Ron wasn't a rocket until getting traded in aug 14, so it's reasonable that Ron isn't the rockets leader. He needs more time and games to gain some fame that is necessary for a teamleader. Then, the teamleader should be generated from either Yao or Tmac.

Yao is not willing to be the leader because he still considers himself as a foreigner, he still seems to be a freshman here even though he has been playing in the league since 02. Yao should learn to shout back when others say gabage words to him, abuse his teammates who suck, let his opponents have a taste of his fist if they strech him again... .... there're many things for him to learn, but I'm afraid that he'll not fully learn all of them before he retires from the league. Yao, you're a man who is feet higher than an average, you're not a big baby that you always seem to be.

Tmac is the most diplomatic one among the "big three", she still doesn't hope to pick the stack up because she thinks the teamleader should be a man instead of a female whose name is Tracy.

 

Blablabla, give them time to gel and get more comfortable with their roles, and everything will be fine.

 

BLINDbury is the ultimate T-mac hater. The Rockets are in 1st place right? Shane Battier has been out all year right? Once the Rockets smooth out Ron Artests role in the offense we will be fine. The calling card of this team will be DEFENSE and depth...Like all NBA championship teams.

 

What I am surprised is to not see Barry taking more of that leadership role. I honestly thought that he would be our starting point guard with aaron brooks or raefer coming off the bench. Watching the games, I am at least glad to see Artest out there calling everyone together and pointing things out. I hope this team gels and everyone can start playing on the same page soon.

This team need a winner to be a leader. Scola fits the bill as he is a former World Champion!

 

what a load of crap... this team needs mcgrady to be healthy, yao to get his stamina and confidence back, and artest to figure out his role. getting battier on the court would be extra extra nice as well.

we have plenty of veterans who know how to play the game, t-mac, rafer, artest, have all shown to be vocal and certainly defensively battier is a very vocal leader. adelman i'm sure is a fine leader as well. leadership is a weak cop-out when you have nothing else to write about. kinda like saying we lack heart. what does that mean?

Everybody think KG is the leader of the Celtics but in my mind is Pierce.

The truth is that Celtics don't have a clear leader, even Allen have to show leadership skill from time to time (just like in the Houston game).

The Celtics are have 3 different personality that lead their team in different ways.

KG is the vocal leader and anchor the defense. Pierce the guy who can take over games and finish the deal. Ray a guy when is hot can carry his team to victory.

In Houston, Artest is the Vocal leader(He is always doing in game mini meetings and talking with teammates) as well as the anchor of the defense. T-mac when healthy at least a 90% he can take over games and finish the deal. Yao now is inconsistent, but once he feel comfortable with his team and offense again he will be Mr consistence again giving you around 20-10 every night and leading with his work ethic.

You don't need a clear leader like Lebron or Kobe(I think Phil is more the leader that Kobe) They can be like past year Celtics without a definitive leader bad a great group of talent with chemistry pulling all in one directions without personal agendas.

 

I have a good view of the bench when I go to the games, and I've seen McGrady, Yao, Alston, and Battier speak up about a situation on the court before Adelman gets to the timeout (because he takes his time starting it) or after Adelman finishes one. I have not seen Ron do it yet, but I'm sure it is coming because we've seen glimpses of him huddling the players on the court.

I think this leadership thing is overblown. Once the team gets its chemistry and two-thirds of the big 3 gets into better basketball shape both mentally and physically, they will have plenty of leaders.

 

Coach should assign one of our big3 to be the leader on court when the offense sucks. We call the players 'big' because they all could lead a team. So the only thing left is just to determine who carry the load some certain night. It doesn't really matter how it is determined, either happen naturally or someone assign it. Just determine and we'll be fine. If you leave the decision to the players when they choke, they'll need some time to figure out who's the best choice. And during that time, we lose the game.

 

The singularity theme (who is "the" leader?) is BS. We don't need "a" leader. We need initiative and will from everybody. I don't give a @#$% if Yao stands in a huddle and demands the ball. That's useless. I want him diving on the floor for balls, sealing big men off the basket, and hauling down rebounds like there's no tomorrow. That's what Battier does: He sets a standard that challenges others to meet it. He doesn't need to use his yap.

Telling players to "demand the ball" is exactly what you'd expect from a journalist. We live by our yaps. Basketball players don't. Neither do teams.

What is missing is a "consistent" FIRE. How much do you really want it? The Rockets don't stay motivated, a long standing problem in the Yao-YMac era. The "Streak" put pressure on them to be more consistent; that is the only time I have seen it from this bunch.

 

Why not put all the words into one post? instead of individually posting them in a row?
If Billups and AI did well as leaders, why the hell were they traded? Battier and Scola should never become our leaders until we fail to win the title and start to rebuild our team with a dozen of rookies.

 

Scola and Battier did best in our team.If Tmac and Yao even Ron want to become our leader,what they ought to do is be steady,while when Battier is on the court,his defence skills have us a lot,you may say Battier get about 10 pts average,that doesnt matter,while Scola he is full of passion,which can infect other teammates.
Billups and AI were traded for the Nuggets want to decrease their salary while Piston is rebuilding indeed,for they had lose3 times at eastern finals.
