So I was playing Bball yesterday at Fitness Connection (Greenspoint Mall) and I notice a lot of people wiping the bottom of their shoes (to get better grip) and I though to myself when was the last time I did that?

Don't think I've done that in a while.

Which brings me to my point, I am looking for new basketball shoes, and am very much interested in your opinion of what shoe works best for you, both indoor and outdoor.

    I use these...

But want to try these, as they are alot slimmer and lighter as well as flexible so I assume, this will help when I make sharp cuts or crossovers.

    What do you guys think?

What kicks do you wear and how do you rate them?

I've been having these forever and when I use them up, I buy another pair but haven't bought one in 10 years. I rate them 9 of 10 for their ease of use and lightness. Adidas rocks.

I used to love "basketball" shoes back in junior high, most of them are too damn gaudy and look like a 4th graders dream item to impress someone.

Case in point, JORDANS. I never never understood how people liked his shoes, they look like ****. Yet, it's Jordan , who cares? lol

Mostly I just buy tennis shoes and ball in them. There's no difference.

I also use the Copa Mundials. I got a pair of Adidas predators but they were always too uncomfortable for me to wear.

I thought the thread title was "What kicks do you use on the balls? Rate your shoes."

I was thinking that the stomp or the soccer kick would be most effective. My steel-toed Doc Martens from fifth grade work the best. I give them a ten for sure, especially with the soccer kick. You get so much inertia with those heavy things swinging on the end of your legs.

Then I realized that the person was talking about basketball shoes in some prole language.

Anyone else use these? I've been playing with them for the past couple of years, and they really help out with my dunking skills.

They're available at Larry's, if anyone is interested.

Ive got $9 Dave and Barry black high top Starbury's

    I'd rate them:
    3/10 for comfort
    5/10 for ankle protection
    1/10 for look
5/10 for durability (played ~ 15 games so far with minimal wear)
    9/10 for value

I'm pretty sure that the point of wiping the bottom of your shoes is to dust off from the bottom of your shoes from a poorly maintained court. Have you ever seen anyone sweep indoor courts at the end of the day? There is all kinds of crap on them.

My enthusiasm towards basketball shoes is probably the oddest thing about my personality. I mean, I like video games and reading comic books. I wear sandals or dress shoes 99% of the time. But when I play, I like style and rarity. Like my car (82 Corvette).

I stay away from Jordan's, too many people have them. Not unique. Currently I am in the white/white Air Penny II's. Ill give my shoe history later in pic format, depending on how bored I get during this weak college football Saturday. I don't buy new shoes often but when I do I fall in love.

And like my car... I always go with style and flash over comfort.
