I know exactly why he did it. Though I would have rather have had the win instead of the experiment.

Adelman was thinking long term rather than short term.

Battle tested... as much as you can be battle tested in the regular season.

He put the starters back out there to see what they would do.

Let him shoot more jumpers, you'll get the same result (20+ points and 50% shooting or better), but he'll take less pounding, will be blocked less, will pick up less offensive fouls, won't be discuraged so easily when facing a quick andbig center, and he'll have more variety to his offense. the only downside is he won't be in position to get offensive rebounds, but i think our forwards and guards rebound well enough that it won't be a big problem. Plus, with Yao shooting, there won't be many rebounds.

Also, i don't understand why Adelman doesn't play Barry with Yao alot more. the solution to a big man being doubled is to put a consistently legit 3 point threat on the same side of the court. That's barry, not Rafer. Barry is alos a better at making the entry pass to the post, i only makes sense to give Barry more minutes alongside Yao.

Ilgauskas has way better hands and is a lot quicker than Yao. Yao doesn't play like anybody in the league. He's a finesse player, but he is sooooo slow.

My only problem with RA is that it honestly still looks like a JVG coached Offense. There are a couple of cuts a game where they get layups but I don't see the motion offense where the ball moves around and they get easy layups. I see other teams running off picks left and right getting open jumpers off of set plays. I'm glad they're winning, it is only one game they have lost but I wish I saw that Offense that was just bad ass at Sacramento. I don't know if it's the wrong players or if they just got used to the JVG offense. Anyway,

And saved a floor ball,that's all the positive things he did in the 4th,I'm so disappointed he couldn't adjust his state.Fortunately it just was a regular match,hope him has learned something last night.
