    You like that spin? I was proud of it.

    Really, though, I've thought Ted Stevens was a cancer in the party for a long time. He's had more scandals float around him than any Senator except Harry Reid. The best thing he could have done for the party was to withdraw before the primaries, and let one of the conservatives running against him mop the floor with the Democratic placeholder, but his arrogance will cost the Republicans a seat.

    Good riddance, anyway, Ted Stevens.

    Yes I did. More subtle than most of what we see.

    If people like you (or what I see of you here), Refman, and Kristine Todd Whitman can form a new coalition, bring people like Madmax and DaDakota back into the fold, you will be fine sooner than later.

    But if the party goes the Palin type of route, you could be in the backseat for a long time (IMHO). Unless we go into a mini-Depression... then the extremist faction could really grow.

    There is this thing called a senatorial election going on and the Democrats could reach sixty in the Senate. This just helps them. But I guess you haven't noticed.
