If Snobama is so outraged, why is a Keating 5 member doing surrogate work for Obama TODAY? http://townhall.com/columnists/AmandaCarpenter/2008/10/06/keating_five_member_is_obama_surrogate Oh, the irony is so thick HYPOCRISY
Your nicknames this election cycle have really failed previous standards and are basically limp noodles flapping in the breeze due to lack of traction. Try harder for us
Well McCain's campaign is based on telling everyone how he's a 'maverick' so I don't think they know any better.

From the Maverick article: "Charlie Keating, the banker and anti-p*rnography crusader, would ultimately be convicted on 73 counts of fraud and racketeering for his role in the savings-and-loan scandal of the 1980s. That crisis, much like today's subprime-mortgage meltdown, resulted from misbegotten banking deregulation, and ultimately left taxpayers to pick up a tab of more than $124 billion. Keating, who raised more than $100,000 for McCain's race, lavished the first-term congressman with the kind of political favors that would make Jack Abramoff blush. McCain and his family took at least nine free trips at Keating's expense, and vacationed nearly every year at the mogul's estate in the Bahamas. There they would spend the days yachting and snorkeling and attending extravagant parties in a world McCain referred to as "Charlie Keating's Shangri-La." Keating also invited Cindy McCain and her father to invest in a real estate venture for which he promised a 26 percent return on investment. They plunked down more than $350,000. DD
You all realize that Congress found McCain to be not guilty of the charges, right? CNN and CNN Headline News ran this information today fwiw... If anything, let the court of main stream public opinion see this "new" and "hopeful" ambassador of "change" and judge him on these yet-to-be-seriously questioned facts. As far as this election cycle is concerned, every decent thinking individual got over the Keating cheating years ago... when McCain was found not guilty. Others got more discipline than McCain did... when they found him not guilty of any wrong doing. Obama, on the other hand, launched his political career in Ayers' living room. That's a close relationship I'd say.
It is not Rove politics when the connection actually exist. Plus, in many ways the saving and loan scandal resembles the current economic climate. By the way, the Keating incident is what defines McCain as the reformer. He assured us that he learned from that mistake and has since become the Maverick. So his choice is either apologize for his past mistake again, or condemn his own reformer image. Looks like he took the latter approach. What happen happened. I remember reading somewhere that an Obama strategist mentioned this is not a card they would play if McCain don't up the craziness and the low blows.
