I went to the MSF class today and for the most part I did really good, i did fall once tho and it was embarrassing. I had no clue you couldnt hit the break when you're doing a turn, and well I did lol. lots of other people fell too so not that big of a biggie.

Also I keep hitting the throttle to hard when i first start up the bike, but im sure that just comes with experience.

Ill only be riding the bike once a week or something, I drive an 08 Civic Si that Ill be using 90% of the time. This is just something fun I can ride on weekends or some sort. Not my main sort of transportation.

Those are expensive to fix if you drop them, even at low speed. Insurance will probably be really expensive. It took 3 years of no claims for mine to drop.

A sportbike has a lot different balance than those little cruisers you probably learned on at the MSF. If you get bored of a 250r in a couple weeks, you probably aren't taking any curves or turns faster than a walking pace. If you didn't know you can't hit the front brakes in the middle of a turn, you need to do more reading.

Riding once a week isn't enough to improve in my opinion. It's easy to ride a motorcycle on the highway. Learning to take curves is a lot harder.

Whatever money you're saving on gas, you're going to blow on tires. I think you're unlikely to get 50mpg on that bike. I get a little over 40 on my 600cc bike.

Just my opinion, I've been riding 4 years, still consider myself a newbie. It's a good looking bike, if you get it, get frame sliders, and carry an extra brake lever and clutch lever. And of course good safety gear.

get something smaller, as a beginner, you are likely to kill yourself on any 100+ hp bike. I've known too many new riders that have.
