I swear the other day i was at my friends house and he lost his remote control and he said, "they need to invent something to where you can hit a button and it would make a sound so you could find it easily." Now i have heard this 5 times the past year from various people. Its also car keys that need them too. I know the invention exists but how come people always insist on trying to reinvent it, or how it was there idea and someone beat them to it?

So i guess im just wanting to know if it is a coincidence or do a lot of people say these things?

People would end up losing the button unless you fix it onto your living room table or something..but its not a bad idea...

Why don't TVs just come with a button to page their own remote?

I've seen this before. There's a button on the console that you press and it makes the remote beep. I don't know why it's not more common, though...

Magnavox or Phillips used to make TVs with a remote-finder button on them.

Having one that came with the TV would be mostly useless for a lot of people. I know where the remote to the TV is, it's sitting on top of the TV. The remote that controls the satellite, etc. is the one I need (and with a toddler in the house who tends to hide things, I do have trouble locating that remote sometimes).
