I just listened to a report on NPR about former Aryan Nation leader August Christ wanting a new compound in Pennsylvania (after his in Idaho was raided by the government after numerous firebombings of synagouges and the killing of those Jewish children in LA were attributed to the organization) where they want to bring in leaders of racist groups from all over the country who are quiety consolodating their power into one giant Aryan Nation. It was descirbed by these leaders as a "United Way of hate." Christ was quoted on the show as saying that there WILL DEFINITELY be a race war in America and their aim is to kill off all Jews and send all black, Asian and Latino people back to "the country they came from." They are planning on holding a rally on Hitler's birthday this summer in Potter County, PA to bring leadership of all these hate groups to one place. They want, in his words, to stockpile weapons and food and build places for people to stay for long periods of time during the war that will win the country back for the white man. Crap, that is ugly.
Well if half of the white trash part of these groups could afford to get there then I would be scared.
Rocketman95, I have absolutely no idea what your post could possibly be trying to imply. For someone who constantly engages in sarcasm, you're very poor at using it to get a point across effectively.
Well, let's have that race war. I say let every black, latino, Asian, or whatever in the Armed Forces can team up with every black, latino, Asian, or whatever officer in the FBI, ATF, CIA, etc and go after them. Use everything available to the military. Every white person with a brain can be a conscientious objector and watch the "United Way of Hate" disappear. I am just kidding (I have to say that, because apparently some people here actually believe that I'm a racist warmongering fascist), but I really do wish the govt would brand these groups as what they are: terrorists no less dangerous than the ones we're fighting overseas.
You know, I've never been as scared of militia than of Islamic fundamentalists. Could be because militia members don't have foreign governments and millionaires backing them... but it might also be a bit racist on my part. I'm not sure. After all, after the OK City bombing, I wasn't afraid of going into federal buildings. But I'm still terrified of flying... and to a lesser extent, going up in skyscrapers. And I'd even think that the OK City type bombing is more likely to be repeated...
I actually agree with haven on this one, although I don't think the homegrown terrorists (which the militias certainly are) are any less of a threat. They just probably don't have access to WMD. Although I'm sure they've got more planned than just OKC. I don't think we should discriminate between terrorist groups, though. Treat 'em all the same - it's only fair...
Hmmmmm, whacky stuff man! Interesting Article I found here: Aryan Nation seeks revival Arizona Republic/November 2, 2001 Ulysses, Pa. -- Flags of white supremacist movements past and present flutter high above a children's swingset in the front yard of a remote home from which Aryan Nations leaders plan to revive and expand their racist, anti-government organization. Across from the pole bearing the standards of Aryan Nations and Adolf Hitler's Navy, another Nazi banner hangs from the window of one of three mobile homes set up around a clearing on the property in rural northern Pennsylvania. One of the mobile homes is the residence of the family of August "Chip" Kreis III, the white supremacist selected to share leadership of the Aryan Nations with Harold Ray "Butch" Redfeairn, a former Dayton man who led an Aryan Nations church in Clinton County. Kreis, the group's new director of information and propaganda, admitted his Aryan, anti-government viewpoint has failed to attract much support in this small community. Still, as the world is focused on foreign terrorists, law-enforcement authorities and anti-racist organizations are monitoring Kreis' home, the past site of militia training exercises and national gatherings of racists. follow the link to read on... And another "good" article! Aryan Nations looking to move to Pennsylvania EVN UpDate January 6,2002 By DAN LEWERENZ/Associated Press COUDERSPORT, Pa. - Sitting in an edge-of-town eatery, his 2-year-old sonGideon on his lap, August Kreis looks like most any other father who takes hischildren to McDonald's and plays with them in the park. But at his home just outside this rural community near the New York border, Kreis is preparing for a day when he says he and his supporters will establish a "white,Christian republic" and drive Jews, blacks, Asians and others from the United States and Canada. "When the time comes, the nonwhites are going to be told that now's the time to getout," Kreis said. "They're going to run to their own lands. Those that don't run, that don't want to leave, would rather fight, we're going to fight them and kill them." Kreis and his beliefs are not new to the community, but his plans to relocate theleadership of Aryan Nations to this sparse region have brought anger and worry from some. "I don't have time for someone who's bigoted and prejudiced," said Marion K.Peet, a member of the Coudersport Borough Council. "I know that there's a lot of animosity between August and some people around town, but most wish he would just go away." The 46-year-old Kreis plans to use his 10 acres to help relocate the group from Idaho, where its 20-acre compound was lost last year following a $6.3 million civil rights judgment against Aryan Nations founder Richard Butler.
They don't scare me as much either, but I find their whole notion of what should be to be pretty amazing. I guess I can write off someone in another country whose only access to education is through some religious school, but it is harder for me to see how this happens here in the US where we are afforded so many opportunities and opinions. While I'm not as threatened, I think I am harder on people who I feel like have options and opportunities and ignore them than people who seem to start out with 2 strikes against them.
This is really interesting. I think that I minimize these guys mainly because I am sure their support base is small. I could be wrong I guess. I don't feel the support base (among the population) is small for Islamic extremists. Like Haven said that could be based on a racist thought process. But I will say I much more ashamed and astonished of white supremicists, than I am of Islamic extremists. I also feel like the white supremicist groups have historically been easily penetrated by the government when the made moves to unify. That hasn't been the case with Islamic extremists.
Sorry Kagy, wanna give me a lesson in how to effectively be an ass? I was simply making a good natured jab at those who claim that liberals are too quick to call people racist. Sorry you couldn't get that without a . Actually, go ahead and put a next to my first sentence before I get a lecture about how I always question admins.
You really do need to start using smilies more often, RM95. We are a bunch of dumb hicks, apparently. Your humor is above our level of understanding. Got that book yet? No, of course that cheap bastart didn't get it yet...
I hate Indiana Nazis. I should point out that I am more afraid of white supremacist groups like that than foreign terrorists, if only because I feel a white supremacist group would be more likely to attack Austin than a foreign group.
Freedom of speech is a great concept...it's just a shame to see how it gets abused in reality. Well, since we have free speech as well, here is my wish list concerning the Aryan Null-brains. 1. I wish the government would tattoo those inbred hatemongers(sic?) across the face so that they can be ostracized the way they'd like to ostracize everyone who isn't just like them. 2. I wish we could give them their wish and exile them to somewhere where they could live in racial purity...anyone for Greenland or Antarctica? 3. Alternatively, I wish we'd give them Wyoming. Cut them out of the union, off the government assistance and let's have them prove how well their pure society works in practice. We'll have to rename it WhiteTrashland and cut off trade with them...after all, someone impure might have produced one of our products. 4. I wish that instead of being a European 16 flavours type of person, I had some other blood in my mix, just so I didn't have to be identified as being even remotely like them. 5. I wish we could all just get along...and I think we all agree that we could get along much better without these idiots polluting our national identity. 6. And finally, I wish Bush would make the Aryan Nations the 4th Axis of Evil and take the two-by-four out of our eye before we go after other fundamentalists. These people are more dangerous than we think because they live in such a free country - they are free to do more damage.
I agree with the above... but I still wish we could ship these jackasses to the moon! this sort of thinking is dying, but there will always be some minority that holds on to these crappy ideas.
I don't think my humor is above or below anyone's, I just think that smilies have hindered the use of sarcasm on this board, and I only think of a few of you as dumb hicks. And no, I haven't bought the book yet. It's not so much that I'm a cheap b*stard, I'm just sticking with my New Year's Resolution. I haven't bought a book, DVD, or CD in nearly two months...pretty good for a guy who used to average about one a week for each. <------Just in case anything in my post was taken the wrong way.
We're all biological organisms. We have the same basic needs and evolutionary considerations. DNA between different races is more than 98% shared. I tend to think that, coming from such similar points, we don't diverge so much as for some people to become "rational" and others "irrational." What is rationally desirable just varies from person-to-person. And even more from society-to-society.
