i think iverson is a good player, (though i think that Kobe t-mac are better SG)but why the hell did this kidd miss 24 shots, i didn't see the game, but can someone please tell me why he keps shooting when he missed twice as much as he scored, A normal player would try to get his teammates involved, i agree both coleman and mckey didn't play.but the other players can score, atleast hit open jumpers and i'm sure they were open a lot of the time,(yeah i think iverson plays smarter than Steve;)) he missed his last 10 shots. come on, i'm sure he gets dubble teamt, does he know how to pass????? Allen just try to trow the ball to another player with the same jersey as you wear.
i'm glad he's not with the rockets, as i see how a lot of people here bass the rockets when they don't play smart, or shoot to much (i agree mobley also does it, but francis mostly starts to pass when it's shot iss't working). But 7 of 34 shots.
    a quote of Iverson:
    I'm a scorer and that's what I do.

i think it's usefull that a scorer hits more than 20% of his shots:D

Well that's his game, an overrated player who rides the back of his team's great defense to undeserved apraisal and credit. The Sixers are the third worst offensive team in the league, if they didn't have Mutombo and Snow and the role players playing great defense even Cleveland would be better than them. I mean third worst offensive team is pathetic, even Denver score more than that and Denver has nothing.

Yeah they can't score without him but it's not like it's hard to find someone who is competant enough to make them score just enough points to win the game. Without him they have horrid offense, with him they have a bad offense, I think plenty of players can turn that horrid offense into a merely bad offense.

Once in a while he has a great shooting game and makes everyone go wow, but more often than not he stinks up the place. He makes so many turnovers too, seems like he misses 20 shots and turns the ball over 5 times every single game.

I really think he's overrated too. Every other Sixers boxscore i look at I see him missing 15+ shots. .393 is not a good shootingpercentage.

regardless of his shooting percentage, he IS the 76ers offense..if he is not shooting, he at least warranting the defense's attention...without him, who would that offense lean on>

Speaking of clanking a bunch of shots...Whatever happened to DREAMer's shooting percentage thread? That badboy was becoming legendary...

Offhand, I'd say Dreamer's thread went the way of Dreamer.

Read the "Jenna can kiss my A**" thread in the main forum for the reference.

The most shots Steve Francis has ever taken in a game is 24 and that's how many shots Iverson missed. That's sad. Iverson is completely overrated. I think that Francis is a much better player than Iverson.

The only reason he is the 76ers only offense is because he helped run off Kukoc, Larry Hughes and Stackhouse. It would also be nice to pass the ball around. Harpring is actually a VERY good offensive player, he isn't just a perimeter shooter, and he's a great defender, but he never gets the ball.

    Don't quite understand;

    Jordan's career FG% is 50.1

Now I understand that he heaved up a lot of shots over that career, but the guy scored on half those shots. That's called good shooting.
Similar to Iverson's 58 point outburst over the Rockets where he hit 21-42; yes he missed 21 shots, but he also MADE 21 shots.

As far as the question as to why Iverson just keeps on jacking it up when the ball clearly isn't falling? I guess his mentality is shoot only, but whatever the case, it has nothing to do with Michael Jordans career of good shooting.

I think Iverson is overrated also. I also think he is a whiner that gets way too many calls for taking into traffic and losing control. He b****es too much.

But I also have to respect him for his relentless ability to take it inside. Even when he's sucking it up, he still tries hard...that is rare in the NBA.

And even though his % sucks, he is what the sixers offense is based upon. Did you see them w/o Iverson. It was as bad as the Rockets w/o Francis, if not worse. They still had good D, but there was absolutely no offense at all.

The whole system is based on getting Iverson shots and crashing the boards. Whether it be screens or just 1 on 1 play...that is the 76er's system. No one on that team other than Iverson is capable of playing the role of Iverson. He has the best 1 on 1 ability, the best pull up J, the best ability to get to the bucket, and the best ability to score period....that is why he carries his team.

IMO, he still sucks, but he is only doing what the 76er's offense requires him too, which is probably more the fault of Larry Brown. But each team sticks to there own system. Personally, I would like to see the Rockets play more 76er's ball, but they have too many other offensive options to make everyone else a board crasher and defensive specialist team.

Now HeyP's argument is that Franchise is not a screen and pop type player. He is right, but I argue that if he were set up in a system to give him those shots, I think he would make them just as much as Iverson, if not better.

So overall, yes, Iverson is overrated, but here, he is probably underrated because y'all don't understand that his role is to do that, and considering that the 76er's are fairly-extremely successful, that team, including Iverson, is doing well with that system.

Iverson missed his last 11 shots in the Pistons' 86-82 victory over the 76ers Tuesday night.

NBAddict: In jeopardy, the answer is in the form of a question. In the NBA, the Answer's form is often questionable.
