Like pork, don't the Muslims consider dogs as "unclean?" Remember the story about the Arab who was sentenced to the lash for disobeying some doggie rules?

BTW, I don't eat hot dogs -- I can't even imagine ever eating pooch on a spit.

Pardon my skepticism but I've also heard that dogs are considered unclean in Islam and many Muslims won't even touch them so I am skeptical that some might eat them.

To the OP were you sure it was dog they were serving?

Ditto. I don't know any Arabs who eat dogs, except may be that these people were so poor that they had to eat anything they found/didn't have much choice. But traditionally, Arabs consider dog meat 'off limits'.

I am not doubting the OP, I am just saying may be it wasn't a dog, but a goat or something (much more common).

 

Muslims are not allowed to eat Dogs or Cats because both are omnivores. We may only eat animals that are vegetarians.

 

i'm the exact opposite. i would eat dog meat, but man i don't like warm water drinks much less warm camels milk. that would probably make me gag.

 

I've eaten dog meat in Korea, it's not that bad.

 

Same here. Warm, unpasteurized milk and presumably no refrigerator in sight, not happenin. But with the dog I bet it's just a matter of finding the right sauce to eat it with.
