because james' contract is one year shorter.

i really doubt they'll get better offers than that i posted above. it's basically trading mike miller for expiring contracts (and that's what they're all about right now) and cardinal's bad deal for a shorter bad deal. i think it could work. at least they should try it.

and to all of you who NOW are saying the rockets have enough, are 16-3 in the last 19 games or any kind of that stuff. you are the same guys that screamed "let's trade xy because we suck!" when the rockets played a tough schedule early on.

be a little more consistent. the rockets are playing good basketball right now. they win games they're supposed to win, though. that's not really a big achievement. it should be a given. i appreciate the turnaround of this season a lot, but the rockets are still out of the playoffs and they still have some weaknesses. a consistent 3rd option and a backup pg are the most important ones. we've really seen it last year. the rockets were basically in the same situation. they played really good basketball but when the playoffs were over i'm sure almost everybody in the organisation regretted not trading for mike james. don't make the same mistake again.

 

Um, the Jazz are something like 19-3 since that trade went down, and have filled a gap (sharp-shooter) they have desperately been seeking. I would hardly call that minor.

 

It's good that you are so optimistic. But the fact is out of the last 15 wins, only 5 are against teams above 500. The Rockets, as it is, is not a contender in the tough west. When we are already invested so much in this season's roster, we aim for the moon, not just another 1st round exit.

 

To get Miller, a lot of our guys have to be involved to match the salary. We just need a PG and Navarro is a good and cheap one though he is a rookie.
Why don't we try to get Hakim and Navarro with Synder?

Some of the trades from this thread is ridiculous. Why would Memphis want Mike James when they are trying to get rid of contracts?

Morey will not make a panic move, because we're not in the playoffs. He understands that 16-3 is good...

 

Did someone say artest a backup? If u have to trade shane to get artest, u do it. I mean artest is a better defender,scorer and tougher. What's not to like about artest other than the lunacy. He also brings a edge on a nightly basis that this team doesn't have. He's also the 3rd scorer everyone has been crying for. If they had to take thomas, so be it.

 

Its disappointing that you are pessimistic. But the fact is 14 out of our 20 loses have been against teams over 500. While you feel that our team is not good as is, let me remind you that we do not have the same players in our rotation as before. Its better to not make a move at all, than make a dumb knee-jerk reaction that we will regret later on.

 

I like delonte west also. He makes sense because he can handle , but not over do it. He's actually a pretty good shooter to. He's young and cheap also.

 

Since when did that become an excuse? Aren't good teams suppose to beat other good teams? Ya, let's feed on the sub-par teams, and get pounded by the top teams. See how that gonna play out for us in the playoffs.

Even with our current streak, we still lost to teams like Boston, New Orleans, and Utah. And we barely beat the Spurs, and the Warriors. We almost lost to Indiana and Seattle for crying out loud. What other indicators do you still need to prove that we are not with the elites?

 

Just because you're the best doesn't mean you shouldn't look to improve. The Suns are sitting on the top of the west, yet they made a trade that will make them better (at least they feel that way).

This streak is compensating for the VERY difficult schedule early in the season. It will all even out. But that shows that the Rockets are roughly in the middle of the pack in the west.

I hope Morey makes a move. But don't give up a chunk of the future for a Randy Johnson-like joy ride. If the trade isn't there, the trade isn't there. That's where Adelman earns his money. Go Rockets

 

Given the excellent job Morey has done so far, I think it's silly how many people are in here accusing him of being lazy or not doing his job. If there's an opportunity to improve the team by trading, he'll do it. Not making a trade doesn't mean that he thinks the team is good enough, just that there aren't any trades available that would improve it.

It's a lot easier to sit at your computer and type "Get it done, Morey" than to actually get it done.

 

the sad part about this is look at the teams we have been playing they aren't quality teams and we will not play a team worth a **** untill the day after the trade dead line you have to go and get a mike miller or corey maggette or ron artest. these type of players is what we need to get over the top. i like head but he does nothing that these type of players do for us oh yeah and by the way in no way do we give battier up for none of them maybe maggette but that is it

 

The trade for Korver was no minor trade. Personally, I feel it's almost as big as the Gasol trade for the Jazz. Korver blends into Sloan's offense like a fish in water. Before the trade, the Jazz were the worst in the league in 3 pointers, and a meager playoff team. Now they've rided a 10 game winning streak, become as good as anybody behind the arc, and 4th place in the west. Now how bout Korver now?

 

Either Delonte West or Duhon would be good fits here, but I actually think Duhon would be the better player for the Rockets.

What impressed me the most about Duhon's performance in that Warriors game isn't so much the points but the way he steadied a young Bulls team down the stretch in the fourth quarter and outplayed Baron Davis when it mattered most. Duhon would be tremendous for the Rockets, having an impact on par with what Korver is having for Utah.

 

How about the Mavs just lost to the Nets and Sixers. The Hornets lost three in a row recently. The Spurs barely beat the Knicks. The Celtics lost to the Bobcats. My point is, even the elite teams have bad losses so dont whine about us barely beating Indiana and Seattle.

I agree if we get Artest he starts, but the reason you dont trade Battier for Artest is because after 30 games Artest will be gone. He will want at least 12 million next year and the Rox can not pay that. Battier will contribute on this team for the next 3-5 years and seems great for chemistry unlike Artest who you admit is a lunatic.

 

I have to say a delonte west trade has legs. He for sure has alot of upside and a skill set we could use right way. Seattle does have a log jam at the point Earl Watson and Luke are both ahead of him on the depth chart.
Tell you the truth i would take Earl or West in a heart beat if all i have to do is give up a late first rounder and kirk snyder. If they send us a second rounder in the deal I would even be inclined to give up head. Morey seems to be able to make magic with second round picks.

 

Did anybody else fall out of their chair when they read this? If the Bulls are willing to sell so low to avoid paying Gordon, by all means sign us up! It's worth a shot -- we would have his Bird rights.

Try to get a package of Gordon and Sefolosha. I was watching Sefolosha guard Baron Davis the other night and was VERY impressed. He's still developing his overall game but his NBA defense is already exceptional. If he can check Baron i'd imagine he can stay in front of Deron Williams, Parker and all those other PG's that burn us.

Use Gordon off of the bench similar to the current role he's already in. Use Sefolosha as a backup point along with Brooks as a defensive specialist.

Worth a shot?

 

I just think we don't have much to offer. A draft pick, MJ, Hayes, Head, Synder, Novack, maybe Brooks.

Just can't see it working with anyone....wish we could get a mike miller or ron artest...
