Gilbert's quirky behavior has grown annoying to me over the past season and a half or so, but this is a cool story.

More of this. Less pompous predictions.

The article seemed like it should go on a lot more, and just ended kind of strange.

But as far as what Gilbert did, it is pretty cool. He's always seemed like a normal joe in that way to me. He only gets a little annoying when he takes that "chip on his shoulder" persona too far.

I remember this, and I thought it was awesome then and now. You would see the kid at some of the Magic games for a while after. Class act.

I really hope we can win it all with Yao and McGrady, because it literally couldn't happen to nicer guys.

Only Gilbert Arenas could get away with meeting teenage boys on the internet. Well, Gilbert and Republican Senators. J/k

Great story! Arenas has always seemed like a genuinely nice guy even if he doesn't seem to "get it" on the court. I have to say I prefer the guy who uses his superstar status to help others over the guy who is a dick but wins a lot in the NBA.

Cool story. I remember seeing another story on him on NBA Inside Stuff (I think). This is what I could find related to that, briefly trying to search on the internet:

    Washington Post
And just like the Garrett story, it was a real connection, not a one-day meet and greet.
