Ok the wife and I are heading to Orlando in a couple of days.

We're going to be in Kissimeemee for a week and want to do the theme parks thing (Magic World, Sea World, Universal, MGM, etc.). We've seen some pretty decent deals online but we're not sure how legit the websites are.

Anyone with experience going to Orlando who've bought these ticket packages online before?

Took my family to Orlando this summer.

We did NOT do the Disney thing. Instead, we booked a package at Universal Resorts, at the South Pacific-themed one. This was a great great vacation, and it was a LOT less than doing Disney. Best thing about it is that your room key is a quick-entry pass into every attraction inside both parks (Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios), and let me tell you, I will NEVER go to any kind of theme park without that benefit again. There is absolutely nothing better than walking up to a ride and being able to get right on, while most of the other people are waiting 45 minutes for the same ride. I believe the longest wait I had the entire week was less than ten minutes.

Also, the 'CityWalk' area is awesome, filled with shops, themed restaurants such as the NBA restaurant, Hard Rock, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (best pulled-pork sandwich EVAH), lots of live entertainment and late-night stuff going on.

The resort hotels are fantastic, every detail is accounted for, the facilities are excellent, and you don't have to drive anywhere if you don't want to - you can either walk directly to the parks and CityWalk, or take a cool little water-taxi.

I don't know how much you're looking to spend, but for a family of 4, for 5 nights, the whole package (not counting air travel) was roughly $1600. I wouldn't recommend that many nights for just those parks though, as 3 days would probably allow you to do everything you want to do maybe even more than once. Nice thing is, if it's just you two, unlimited admission to the parks is included in your stay, as long as you stay, I think, 3 nights. Heck, they will even deliver, free, anything you purchase inside the parks, directly to your room for you, so you don't have to carry stuff around. :)

Check online at Universal.com (I think) and it will tell you everything you need to know.

We had a blast, and it cost less than half of what the Disney run would have cost.

    Good luck.

i've been to universal. there's an NBA attraction there,
my favorite one (if its still there) is the Marv Albert commentary when you shoot. "Swish!!" or "Just a bit off"
