I was talking about this with my friend and I think he is making it more confusing then it really is. Laptop has a VGA port..... he says I need a USB->VGA chord, then I would need a video card. My question is, since my laptop has a VGA input already, shouldnt it already have everything I need (as far as hardware) to play my xbox 360 on it?

Probably not. I think the VGA port on your laptop is for output not input.

No laptop I have ever seen has a video input, only outputs.

At least, however, you CAN use the 360 with a VGA monitor, you just have to get the correct cable (which can be hard to find). I have mine plugged into my DLP projector via a 30' VGA cable, and it works beautifully.

But unless you somehow have a VGA *input* on your laptop, this is never going to happen with that particular unit.

    Gamebridge

    List Price: $113.10
    Price: $16.95
    You Save: $96.15 (85%)

    What laptop do you have?

My guess is that between the XBox and your laptop, you have invested over $700, yet you have difficulty justifying an accessory that is selling for $16.95.
