The Rockets brand of basketball has not matched up well against the Kings style of play for the last few years so loosing on the road to them should not be too much of a shock.

Tonight however, the Rockets are playing a Portland team that is not playing as dominant as it has in the last few years. This is a team that looks like it will be fighting the Rockets for one of the last playoff spots in the west. Tonight the Rockets have a very real oppertunity to make a statement to the league that it can beat one of its Rivals in the west and become a true favorite to win a spot in the playoffs.

I think the Rockets win tonight 96 - 90. Steve and company will bounce back nicely from their poor shooting performance last night.

The Rockets will have to contain Bonzi...get that done, you've got the game.

I'm also optimistic about tonight's game. C'mon, guys; don't let us down!

Final score: Rockets 92, Blazers 86.

Rockets won't make it easy for themselves. Last four minutes will be tense, but in the last 30 seconds, Rockets will be up by four and be able to put it away. Mediocre games from either Rice and/or Walt.

Well just looking at the matchups, we have 1 adv,2 dis adv, and 2 washes. If our bench doesn't play well, then we'll lose by 10.

I'd like to be positive, but let's face it. The Rockets aren't going to win this game. They don't have it in them to win this game.

    98-90 Blazers.

    10, 9, 8, 7, 6, ......

(Countdown until ZRB says he was using reverse psychology to encourage a win.)

Face it ZRB, you'll never be able to say you've given your heart and soul to this team. You'll always be a bandwagoner.

If you could see the way I put myself into these games, then you would know that your post was complete crap. What is it with you? Do you only post when I predict Rockets losses? Get over yourself Behad.

Um, you predicted a Rocket loss before the game started. Why "get into" a game that you expect to lose?

No, I only post when you proclaim to be a fan, then predict a loss. Face it, you have no chance of being a blind faith fan, one you continues to expect a win even with the team down by 15 with 8:15 left. A "disaster" was the term you used, I believe. That means you jumped off the band wagon before the game was over. Hell, tonight you jumped off before the game began. Loser.

I "get into" games because despite predicting a loss, I still have hope for the win. I predicted what I thought would happen. I was wrong, and happy to be so. They proved me wrong today, and I am damn pleased. That's it. That's all I have to say on the matter.

I really don't understand this. You predicted a loss, so you watch....why? To be happy they proved you wrong, or to to be proven right? So you could come back on here and gloat about how you "knew" they would lose?

Impossible. You haven't shut up since you got here.

Come on Behad. The guy says he is a Rocket fan. Maybe he is just a little bit more realistic then you. He is a little too negative sometimes, but I dont think he is a bandwagoner. I expect the Rockets to lose a lot of games, but I still watch em cause I love em. That is what makes a true fan. A true fan is not just someone who expects the Rockets to win every game cause he has "blind faith".

Returning to the topic of the thread, it seems that the Rockets did indeed make a statement tonight. The Rockets beat the Blazers as if they were the favorites. They've also won three of the last four games in Portland. Nice job.

ZRB, I often share your pessimism, but I have to admit that your comment about the Rockets not having it in them sort of bothered me.

But who cares? Rockets win! Rockets win! Rockets win! Move up to 3rd in the Midwest, 5th overall.

...and I'd just like to point out that my prediction of 92-86 was only off by three points. Thank you. Thank you. :D

I must say, though. Looking purely at record, I'm not extremely impressed with Dallas so far this year. Unlike Minnesota, they haven't been consistent with beating the teams they're supposed to beat. I think all three Texas teams are closer together than we anticipated. San Antonio's a top team, but not the top team. And Dallas and Houston seem to be a notch below in the second tier of teams in the West.

Likewise, I don't think Seattle's so bad as their record suggests. They haven't had the easiest schedule. I hope the Rockets don't do another 180 and come into Seattle unprepared. This is definitely not a team to take lightly whatsoever.

I'd still like to point out CCI Blazers suck and are cheap......don't use them, just do like the Rockets and abuse them.

I'm sure ZRB would like it if Behad got his d!ck out of his ass.

Lay off ZRB, Quit trying to change him or something. He's not asking you to shutup because you disagree with him.

    kid, that was uncalled for.

As for the Behad vs. ZRB posting fight of the century, I predict Behad in and 3 round TKO!

No offense ZRB. I know you are a Rockets fan through and through, but to come out before a game and say these guys...the Houston fuggin Rockets don't have it in them to win, the same team that took the Lakers to overtime, is just stupid.

I will be the first to agree that they have not played up to their potential(damn is that an understatement!!), but the Blazers are in disarray right now and were ripe for the picking tonight from the get go. The Rockets haven't played the kind of basketball we all know they are capable of playing, but we have seen signs of the "Eye of the Tiger" in them in the few games they've played this season. Imagine what we'll be like if/when we start shooting at a decent clip....woooooo-hoooooo!
