I payed for my virtually my entire college education with loans. Since I couldn't get near enough in federal loans to cover the cost, I was forced to take out a substantial amount in private loans, which I'm starting to pay for with insane interest rates (8.5-10.25%). Has anyone here consolidated private loans with much success? A quick google search didn't look to helpful.

That's the thing that sucks about private student loans. You usually can't consolidate them. I know gfor sure you cannot consolidate them with federal loans.

I put all my private student loans on a citibank credit card that was offering 1.99% interest on any debt transfer for the life of that debt. of course, dont use that credit card for anything else.... this was for about $5K.
