Scola says -- Morey tried to convince Scola that Hou is perfect; scola said you don't need to convince me; Hou is perfect for me. This is the right place for me; right opportunity for me.

what makes houston the right fit

Scola: lots of latin americans here; nice city; team is great with 2 superstars; have a pretty good team already; a winning team, which is the best part of everything; chance to play with winning team with big goals.

matt j- why did it take so long with the spurs?

scola- always under contract with euro team; difficult for him to come over; good words for Buford for letting Scola come over now.

discussion re jermain oneal stepping on scola: scola remembers that play b/c he was involved; never talked to oneal after that; not a problem; that's just part of the game.

discussion re argentine team: the euro teams have to take their game to another level; argentine team played together for many years, very close teammates; enabled them to do good things.

matt J: many in Argentine championship team in NBA. Did last go around with that team let you know youre ready?

Scola: pretty sure it will take a little while to adapt to NBA game; will try to adjust quickly; must work hard, be humble, wait for my time, may not be now. (scola very humble sounding, without sounding like he lacks confidence)

 

he just said he has to work hard, be patient, be humble, he knows that it will take time...refreshing.

 

I like his attitude

rich lord: were you 15 yrs old when you became a pro

scola: yes. discussion re international system, club system outside of high school and university system.

 

Yah his attitude, has a good confidence of himself but seems like a very nice and modest person.
