I see what you're saying, and I can see why you might have some complaints regarding the PS3's library (although again, these things are debatable). I think there are some more innovative PS3 titles coming out later in the year (Warhawk, Lair, LittleBigPlanet, Eye of Judgment, FolkLore, The Agency, etc.) that might be more to your liking...or maybe not. It is definitely something Sony needs to work on, although I'm pretty confident in their abilities (again, they're a pretty talented studio that have shown plenty of innovation for games on the PS1, PS2, and PSP). Of course, these won't necessary help the PS3 all that much when it comes to sales...not nearly as much as a price cut anyway (or several price cuts).

Don't try to push off Genji and Untold Legends to me. You can keep those crappy games. :p

I definitely agree with what tinman said. It can vary from game to game, but I know I've heard comments that Forza 2 looks like Forza 1 (a Xbox game) on a SDTV (obviously, it looks much more like a "next-gen" title in HD). You certainly shouldn't buy anything you can't afford, but a HDTV is pretty important in getting the full experience for PS3/360 games. Especially since some aren't that expensive, as tinman mentioned.

yeah, i dont doubt that ps3 will have their handful of really good games that add a little something new but as of now i dont think they have.

do u have a widescreen monitor for your computer? if you dont have an hdtv, u can buy a vga adapter for either system and get hd-res on your monitor.

for HDTVs, you can find cheap ones anywhere. craigslist too. u can buy an old hd-crt or projection for cheap too.

Resistance has sold ever 2 million units which, as RC said, is impressive for the amount of PS3s that are even out there.

I think the PS3 has a healthy library for its 7 month existence. I can't believe more people aren't on Nintendo. Most of their software are classic games. They haven't rolled out very much at all since the system has been out.
Super Paper Mario is the only big release. Mario Party was a disappointment as was Wii play. I think the difference is that a few wii games have a very long lasting appeal.

If you're holding off on the HDTV, then the difference in graphics gets cut down a lot. You could almost throw the Wii into the mix. The picture quality in HDTV is that big.

    My opinion on the consoles-

360: Best games lineup right now, different experience than the Wii, has a great online pay service. This would be the traditional console to get right now. MS killing the original Xbox might worry those who want a nice PS2 long investment, but there wasn't a shortage of good games.

Wii: If you don't have too much time to invest in games, but like an arcade or carnival experience, this is the system to get. Free online, fun party experience, but getting and finding 3 controllers might set you back.

Nintendo systems usually have killer first party software, but poor 3rd party games. But if you don't have that much time to invest in games, it won't matter. Don't believe others in their claims that this system is a fad. It's opening up new people to games, and they've made multiplayer easy to connect. A good multiplayer game can last 5+ years. Other companies will fail to deliver in their originality, but Nintendo won't. When they bring something out, they make sure to plan it all the way through. It's why the same idea would not work if the 360 or PS3 had it first.

PS3: I still think this system has the highest ceiling of the three. I would get this system if you're a tech geek who loves to play movie files, blu-ray, and the best looking games out there. Even their free online program is potentially great. Honestly, the current difference in graphics between the PS3 and 360 does not make it worth 100 bucks more, but if you're looking for a system guaranteed to last 6+ years, this would be the system to get out of all 3. Japan will not abandon Sony for Microsoft, so quality games are also guaranteed. There are expensive peripherals that you're forced to buy, but you're loaded enough to consider a PS3 hahahahaha.....

Time Crisis 4 was announced for PS3 with a new GUNCON which sposedly works with HDTV's. This is one of a few games I'm anticipating. I have TC 2 + 3 on PS2, so obviously I'm a big fan of the TC series.

Here's one thing most of you guys over look. With the power of the current systems, we're able to currently play ARCADE perfect ports for a fraction of the cost. I've waited a long time for this day to come and it finally has. No more watered down ports of my favorite arcade games. I hope they announce a Arcade perfect port of Initial D stage 4. THat's a system seller IMO. Probally the best racing game currently in the arcades (arcade scene is pretty much dead in the states).

I think most guys overlook it because, as you said, the arcades have been going the way of the dodo for a LONG time. no one cares about arcade games...so no, they are not system sellers

I wouldn't define games like SF2 Alpha or Power Stone as graphic intensive (or hard ports for that matter) arcade ports. If you want to bring it a step futher, we could say the Atari 2600 had an arcade perfect port of pong, which isn't saying much.....

When I refer to arcades, I'm talking about games that were impossible to replicate for home consoles during their time. I would love to see perfect ports of House of the Dead 4 (2005), Outrun 2006 (2006), Initial D Stage 4 (stage 1 released in 2001, stage 4 in 2007), even Daytona USA (1994) on home consoles. Ironically all these games are from Sega =X
