i set up to meet a couple of old acquaintances there at 7. of course, my date wasn't ready til 6:55. then i'm going the 70 on the 60 mph I-45 North freeway. i'm contemplating whether to take the Scott and Pease exit to downtown or the Houston exit by th courthouse. i decide on the former.

as usual, everyone's hauling ass b/c there's no one on there. as i'm exiting, what do i see? 2 freaking cops pointing their radar guns. never have i run into cops there. BANG macalu, you're dead. pull your ass over.

"do you know why i pulled you over?" :(
    "b/c i was speeding."
"did you know your insurance card is expired?"
"did you know your inspection sticker is expired?"

Thank you my wonderful g/f (her car). I've just been hit by a tornado of tickets! pheeeeeewwww.....swirl, swirl.....i'll get you my pretty.

finally, we make it to Live but not before seeing another childhood friend walking the streets. he comes to Live and has a couple of drinks with us. from the looks of him, you wouldn't think much but this guy has some serious social skills. he chatting it up with other people and introducing us to the bartenders. but i digress.

i knew it wasn't going tobe a great night when at halftime, i was already drunk b/c i so pissed at the tickets. Thank you Rockets for putting up pathetic display of whatever the hell that crap was. you could at least salvaged my night with a concerted effort.

i did met a couple of great Rocket fans (JR and Steven)who bought me a couple more drinks after they overheard my story about the tickets. also Jessica, the bartender was quite nice to us.

now i sit, broken harted. tried to ****, and it's coming otu like niagra falls. i've got a hangover and the runs......GRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEAAARRRRRRTTTTT!!!!!

    i'm going to bed now.

i think it had more to do with the amount of food than the content. of course, the beers and shots didn't help. i hadn't eaten in about 8 hours up to that point.

oh yea, i just came back from dropping off someone at GRB. i took the same route i took yesterday. man, those speed limits drop fast. basically, everyone speeds going down that ramp. i slowed down to about 40 (my ticket was 53 in a 35) and thought there's no way they'd be there again but i'm not taking my chances. sure enough, there was the same cop. it was just him alone this time.

on a random site note, if cops ever wanted to make a killing, just go down barker cypress by 290, any given time of day.

everyone (including me) goes about 15-20 over the 45 mph speedlimit.

yet, there's NEVER any cops there.

I got a ticket in that EXACT same situation. Somehow they expect you to go from 60 to 35 in a heartbeat. I did mine trial by jury and they dropped it like aids.

I recommend David Sprecker and Associates to clear the ticket.

He clear one of my speeding tickets: 76 in a 45.

Or just take defensive driver. Don't beat yourself up. **** happens. Oops, sorry. ;)

Don't follow my advice??? I'd prefer you didn't.

Macalu, don't forget, if your insurance was expired, you will now get the surcharge of $104/year now, also.

BTW, Texas has passed the surcharge for moving violations. If you get 3 in 3 years, you now also get the surcharge.

If someone can tell me how to upload a picture on here, I'll scan it and show y'all.

    Better watch your mail, boys.

that's the sh!tter right there. i hadn't taken a defensive driving class for 9 years and never got a ticket.

b/c i needed training hours for my job, i took a defensive driving class last September. well, you can't take the class to have the ticket removed if that class was less than a year ago. ****ing owned.

Are you sure? If you took the class for a reason other than dismissing a ticket, I think you still might be able to take it again.
