Who were the Middle Easterners on I-45?

I was coming home from UH today and right around Telephone road I see two cops on separte motorbikes escorting about 10 cars with their emergency lights on. In all the cars were men who looked Middle Easterners. I am just being nosy and wondering if anyone important is in town. All of this happened around 2:30 pm.
