I didn't want to post that he had been captured, but reports say he's under house arrest: It is unconfirmed, however. http://au.dailynews.yahoo.com/headlines/20010913/aapworld/1000336445-1141825578.html
The link and site are now working again-- they appeared to be down for a period earlier. Great find SCF...
you next thing you know, he will have been 'liberated' and a few dead soldiers (who will just give their lives to Allah) will appear. Osama will disappear, and the Afghan government will plead innocence.... "but we tried.... hey, maybe he's in Pakistan now!". My faith in the CIA or in the FBI will increase a 1000 fold if they capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. To be honest, I don't see him dying anytime soon.
I'm dubious about this. That link has been up for a while now on the Aussie Assoc. Press, Drudge has been linking to it for an hour, but no one else has picked it up. Also, they don't source the actual online Arabic newspaper. Of course I hope the story is true. Either way, the country is freaking out (http://us.news2.yimg.com/f/42/31/7m...nm/20010912/wl/attack_afghan_binladen_dc.html) even though it has very little to lose (relatively speaking). They may yet pounce on bin Laden to protect what little they have left.
Actually, this is a better take on the worries of the Afghans... http://www.nytimes.com/2001/09/13/international/asia/13AFGH.html
