Saint Augustine: "The purpose of all war is peace" Albert Einstein: "Peace cannot be achieved through violence; it can only be attained through understanding" General Patton: "Americans love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle" Will declaring war lead to peace? How does one attain understanding to attain peace? Is it through war? Do Americans love to fight, or do we just love to defend our way of life?
I think Einstein is the only one who is right in your quotes. It is hard to hate someone when you understand that they are essentially EXACTLY like you. They have the same hopes, fears, and expectations. However, that being said, many people in these impoverished Arab nations do not get the truth, they are taught to hate Americans, and that we are the reason their country is poor. Never mind that the leaders of those countries all have millions if not BILLIONS of dollars, it is the EVIL America that is the problem. The only way to achieve understanding is to UNBLOCK the artery that is stopping an intelligent discourse between the people of that region and the people over here. We have to take out those governments that are oppressing their people and spreading this misinformation, otherwise more children will learn to hate, and I do not want my child to hate because he is hated. Sad, really sad !! DaDakota
Well we help set up the country of Israel after WWII and there has been conflict over there since it was setup and the setup of Israel is what has led so many groups to oppose the U.S. If we took those governments out and replaced them with ones we find suitable I am almost 100% sure that it would backfire and many more people would oppose us.
