That's okay, they can recruit Vince Young again.

    Seriously though.

Neverheard of this guy. Is he any good?

Ya he is supposedly one of the top quarterbacks coming out of High School. 5* recruit from Florida. Played in 2A though I believe so not exactly against the best talent.

that worked out really well for ryan perriloux...

that idiot could have backed-up vince for a year and then pretty much waltzed right into the job. not to mention would have been a champion...

Both schools have good freshman QB's in Teabow and McCoy so its a risky move for him to go to a school like that.

Brantley was Gatorade's High school player of the year.

Big big loss. They have another 5 star commit in John Chiles. He's a freak athletically. But only one year at QB.

Colt McCoy probably isn't going to leave early for the NFL, so pretty much any stud QB is going to pass on UT for a year or two. There's not much chance of him starting before his junior year (unless he's Vince to Colt's Major Applewhite).

John Chiles runs a 4.39, though he's generally listed as "Athlete" he could be a terror in the same simple read or run spread formation game that was developed for Vince.

Google Video never works for me but maybe it will for you:

It's disappointing anytime you lose a big recuit...very strange that our biggest losses have been top rated QBs.

I know Brantley is a Gator legacy...but he couldn't be any worst of a fit for that offense. He also has Tebow and 2 other good QB recruits to battle with.

We have Colt for 3 more seasons, Harris is a decent backup, but I think we'll see Chiles at QB when it comes his time. He is very raw as far as being a QB...but he's like Bush with an arm.

That Chiles guy is a freako. If he develops real QB skills he would be unstoppable. For that matter, he may be unstoppable anyway.

Chiles appears to be a very explosive player. Can't wait for him to get on campus.
