I recently bought an XBox 360 and am set, but my brother across the country (who I'll likely play be playing against) also bought a 360 and has an older HDTV (Mitsubishi WS-55809). It looks like it has only one 1080i input. Is there a way to "split" this so he doesn't have to disconnect his HDTV cable receiver and connect the XBox 360 each time he wants to play?

I guess it would be something like this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...cs_id=1011002&p_id=2778&seq=1&format=2&style= I think that does what you said, although I'm not sure. Might be something better, I just did a search for "HDMI switch" and got that.

this is what Rudy T and Hakeem have dreamed of. Rocket fans helping each other in times of need. Good work rrjgamz!
Clutch, if you have an AV Receiver that has component switching, you can control the the sound/video switching there.
I just bought a 56" Zenith Z56DC1D DLP HDTV . Its real nice. However, I guess I need the proper cables to view high-def tv. I have dish network , but i need a HD reciever. What cables do I need? How can i hook up some pioneer speakers to it? Where can i get a cheap stand for it? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
1. call dish network and tell them u have hd so they can get u the hd box 2. i dont know what model u have, but if it has hdmi then get hdmi cables (go to walmart or frys), if they only have component, then most likely the dish network would provide u some 3. go on avsforum and look up the owners thread of your model tv... look for people who post their picture settings (contrast, brightness etc).. use their settings or try out others on their til you find one you like. these nerds usually spend lots of time calibrating to get the best picture so u should trust them 4. u have a/v receiver? thats what u need 2 connect your speakers to
The best connection would be "HDMI" cables. "Component" cables are pretty good too though. To hook up speakers you will need an AV reciever and you of course use speaker wires. duh. Just google "tv stand" and a hundred sites pop up.
THANKS GUYS....yes i do have an a/v reciever. I talked to DishNetwork and they said it will cost 69.99 to ship and install a HD reciever.
it has 2 hdmi inputs here it is http://http://www.zenith.com/sub_prod/subCategory_Display.asp?cat=46 Z56DC1D
Tell them to kiss your ass as you've been a customer for XX years and you'll go to DirecTV if they don't give you one for free...
dude of course it works. think about the revenue one household brings to them. i threaten time warner all the time, when they raise my bill. recently it went up to $140, then i say the magic words "Direct TV" then they dropped it to $120.
I just got a HD tv and reciever this past weekend. Discovery HD Theater is so cool. The VS fashion show wasnt bad last night either.
