I hope I'm not violating any policy here. This is the first time I'm selling something on ebay so y'all check it out if you want. I stayed up all night for those. I also got 2 more tix for that game and 6 tix for the Texas game on Thanksgiving also on the field. I'll probably put those on ebay too. Do any of y'all know how much they were going for last year? Real question, cause I've never done this before. Also, I could probably put 2 of the Texas tix on sale here cause I know there are a lot Longhorns here, and if I make enough money on my other tix, the ones here would be on the cc.net discount.

Sorry if I'm violating policy or something. Kinda bored...kinda exhausted with school already too.

dude, how did I do that. Every sports pass here is garunteed a ticket to the game. So all the students who want to see the game can see the game. A lot of people stayed out last night in line and we had the money to buy the alloted number of tickets. These are damn expensive too, and as a result I have no money left until I sell them so I can pay off my credit card debt that I got into because I paid for school books.

I think you're coming down too hard without understanding the full situation. Students can still buy sports passes and ANY A&M student who wants to see the game can do so, and they will still be cheaper tickets then what these are at face value. So I don't think I'm denying my fellow students anything at a school and environment that I really enjoy. Now if somebody has some sob story about not seeing his/her son play in years and lives overseas or something and I find out about that...that might be a different perspective morally.

But that's a different issue, and there's probably more important sob stories about real issues out there.

As for this situation: I stayed up all night, bought the tickets with my own money, and in this capitalist society can do whatever the hell I please with them. I can burn them; I can use them for me and my friends who aren't students (which I am doing); or I can sell them, or any combination of the above (which I am doing).

I don't particularly like scalpers either. But if you want THESE tickets, you should of brought your sleeping bag, or by them from me or other scalpers.

And what's wrong with someone WILLING to pay me more money for the ticket than I did? If some rich alum or fan or anyone who wants to spend the dough wants the tickets, click the link and bid. There's nothing wrong with that.

Dylan, I sympathize with some of your socialist undertone of your post, for I believe there are things in this world that need to be more socialist (like minimal economic standards). Nice field tickets for a good football game being sold on the open market is a totally different thing.

I hope you see things a little differently now.

If that's true then you suck less and i take back my last statement. I still think all scalpers suck.

Of course you can do whatever you want. I'm not a socialist at all (in fact I'm a Libertarian) so I think scalpers should be allowed to exist. Nothing is wrong with someone wanting to buy them for over face value, and nothing is wrong with you selling them for that amount. I just think scalpers (and their close relatives the "ticket brokers") are pure scum.

You are free to think I'm scum and/or disregard my message. That's the lovely thing about the US. :)

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then. As I said, I don't particularly like scalpers either, but we do live in a capitalist country. I don't ever buy tickets from scalpers (mainly cause I can't even if I wanted to), but I don't know if that means they suck. If I wanted something so bad like tickets to some event, then I'd get my ass out the day before and camp like the rest of the crazy fans and the scalpers dedicated/greedy enough to do so.

There were a lot of people out there who I disagreed with, particularly the dude who brought his 4 kids so they could buy the max tickets per person. I'm not gonna call them white trash, but everyone else did. There were all sorts of ethnic trash (as some would say) out there. Personally, I wouldn't choose to scalp as a full tim living, but I do empathize with their situation. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's a free country, and they seem to be definitely far worse off economically than me, and I'm not rich or anything...so I do understand their thinking and situation. So I find it hard pressed to say they "suck." I feel bad for them.

As for me, do I NEED the money? Not really. It helps a lot though. And it is true that a lot of my motive is greed, which is a sin. So, in a sense I do suck because I am greedy. But if you're going to use greed as a standard then there are tons of other situations other than scalping that truley "suck".

I just think things are more complicated than black and white. And especially this situation, where your standard was based on the denial of tickets to other A&M students (which as I said isn't happening), and also since you still haven't addressed why it's wrong for the ultimate buyer who uses the tickets to posess them (basically why that person is less deserving), I do not agree with you. I'm just wondering what standard you are judging things on since your original one does not apply here.

I just hope the game is as exciting as y'all's bickering.

    Kim-

I had no idea the tickets already went on sale!! Did they put an ad out or something to that effect that I obviously didn't see??!!

    Frank,

nah man, they were just limited seats. We still pull with our sports passes the week of, but these are like extras seats created only for these two games.

I live at Cain and was gonna stroll out in the morning to see if there were any left but started to see people camp out the night before when I went to Rumours. This dude had this list so I put my name on it and came back at 5:30am, the time the line was to form. 1500 were put up for each game and I got some of the last 100 of each.

Check the ticket office if they're selling any more, but I doubt it. I think you'll just have to find someone's sportspass to add a guest sticker to if you want extra tickets.

Though I just thought of an idea to get a TON of sportspasses. I'll tell you when I find out for sure. If I get bunch, I'll hook you up some tickets at the cost it is to me.

at UT, you kind of have to be a student to use sports passes; not sure if that applies here.

BTW, I think ND is gonna whip up on the gomers......:D

I got UT student season tickets last year. When I turned in my application, the ticket lady told me that I should wait for the student draw to buy extra tickets for the A&M game.

So draw time rolled around. I got a wristband and waited in line for extras. When I went to buy my tickets, a different ticket lady told me that since I had season tickets I forfeited my right to buy tickets through the draw. She said I should have put down tickets on the initial application.

I was pissed off at this point so I spoke with Chris Plonsky (assistant AD). She said she was sorry but she could not do anything although they had extra A&M tickets! So I sold my ticket to the game and refused to ever buy tickets from UT again. I didn't get much money since it was a single student ticket. You notice that this year on the application it says order tickets now before the draw...that's cause of me.

It was kinda hard watching the NMSU game. I wanted to be there chanting for Cedric. But oh well. I'm going to see the UT UH game. And I would like to see the UT A&M game too since I missed last years classic.

I'm content watching the Horns on TV for now. I'll prolly shell out next year since A&M is on the home schedule. This year's schedule flat out sucks. And the year after, KSU and Nebraska come to Austin.

    Kim-

I'm in dire need of a ticket so feel free to fill me in on your master plan to score a sportspass. I'll be going to the game. Though my boss from this summer is a Notre Dame alumn and I could score some serious brownie points if I got him a ticket. His boss is an A&M alumn. Go figure.:) It'd be awesome if I could get them both tickets. Feel free to email me if you'd rather not disclose your idea to the public.

You Aggy students are lucky. Notre Dame and Texas in the same season. I would be doing the exact samething as you guys.

However, the Aggy football team won't be as lucky.

    9:00 PM Thursday
    Laramie, Wyoming

    It's over!!!
