    Just heard it on TNT.

I hope we have a championship with Yao and T-Mac before it's all over. If anything, hopefully this means that he will just go all-out the three years remaining on his contract.

Same goes for Yao. This could motivate both to understand that their window is closing.

I thought he signed a max extension with us after the season of the trade. That should be 4 more years, taking him to either 31 or 32.

Not a huge surprise given his "i'm old" comments...

    Holy crap!

If this is true, then the Rockets really have to "win now." Although one possibility is trading T-Mac's huge expiring contract away a couple years from now, to try to offset the loss.

He almost had me until that comment about thinking about playing baseball.

I don't know it just sound reminiscent of a certain player.

    Think about it.

If the Rockets overacheive this year, and improve this next 2 seasons.. he could conceiveably have 3 rings by the time his contract is up. (Someone may correct me ont his as I don't know how many years are left on his contract.)

So say he has 3 by then -- he pulls an MJ then pulls another MJ and comes back -- hopefully to Houston.

    Just thinking out loud here.

He's mentioned this on numerous previous occassions and in general, seems to like talking about it. I guess it's the only motivation he can muster for himself, that after 3 years, it will ALL be over so keep playing the game you "love" now.

    I'm not suprised.

Hopefully T-MAC and Yao can get it done within 3 years if not than its probaly never going to happen with these two.

If they dont get it done I'm not sure if T-MAC is a HOF'er but I dont think he cares about that either.

I just wonder how the chronicle didnt get this news 1st. It might not happen if the rockets suffer a few heartbreaks, I bet he will change his mind I dont see him leaving Yao in mediocrity.

He'd be done if he did that. With the way injuries have slowed him I don't think at 30 he'd be able to leave the game and comeback as the same player.

He's been playing, what, 10 years?

A 13 year career is a pretty long time for an NBA player.
