You knew I was being sarcastic. I agree we needed something else on offense... a spark... we couldn't punch it in... but... I don't know if Rosenfels could have done it better than Carr... Carr rushed more than Lundy (48 yards) HcHustler, he didn't do much... yes, double-teamed...yes, they ran opposite to where he was when the former didn't happen...
No kidding. I forgot about that. You guarantee a win against a team that won 2 games the previous year, you're at home, you've already lost to them once this year.....and you STILL can't back it up! Why can't we play the Faguars every week?
if rosenfels can do it better than carr, we're in big trouble. i was being sarcastic, too, obviously.
What was so ugly about it? The defense played very well. The passing game wasn't that great but it wasn't horrible and they ran for 148 yards. Jacksonville was ugly with 4 interceptions and all the drops.
Mario was probably doubled because only Babin yes, Jason Babin gets 2 sacks! So, Mario had to be double teamed. Even on the sacks he didnt get credit for, he hit Garrard a few times. Even when Mario isnt getting sacks, he's still helping out the D to make plays.
Do we actually have a defense now? I don't know but its been fun the last month or so watching the defense come together (mario, Ryans).. Good win Texans!
That Washington game seems like such a long time ago now. I knew we couldn't be THAT bad. Faggins coming back has really helped. Better playcalling has helped too.
Entering this game, over the past 5 games we had the NFL's 5th ranked defense. Yes, you read that correctly. Quoth Mr. Carr:
Were they really that good or was the Texans' O-line that bad? This was a good game in many respects because you could see where the O-line needs to be improved - they were getting very little push against the Jac D-line and on a lot of running plays there simply wasn't anywhere for Lundy or Gado to go. I expect this to be addressed by Kubiak in the off season because I can see where improved O-line play will allow this team to put more points on the board. They tend to bog down in the red zone too much because they can't run consistently. In other areas: Am I alone in thinking that the hit on Carr that injured him was a late hit? Replays show that the official was right there, had his hand on the flag and did nothing.
