the closest thing i have to a 2nd favorite team is the saints. they were the closest regional team after the oilers left who weren't the cowboys. so they were the team i rooted for. but i didn't feel for them anything like i felt for the oilers or the texans.
i've enjoyed the ravens this year because of mcnair pretty much. and proximity allows me to watch them every week
I've explained before that I'm a Texans and a Cowboys fan. Some people dont't think its possible but it is. Last weekend my son and I sat at bw3 so we could watch the cowboys, texans and astros all at the same time. too bad we only got 2 out of 3 wins we wanted.
Fly, Eagles fly, on the road to victory! Fight, Eagles, fight, score a touchdown one-two-three! Hit 'em low, hit 'em high, And watch our Eagles fly! Fly, Eagles fly, on the road to victory! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
I was a hardcore Browns fan in the 80's during the Bernie Kosar era. When they relocated, I continued to follow them to this day as the Ravens.
Of course the Oilers/Titans, but other than the Texans, the Cowboys...My dad loved them and I grew up loving them...Can't take the Houston out of me though...I'll be going to the game next week...I'll be wearing my Texans hat...
I generally become a fan of whoever is on fantasy football team. This year its the New York Giants. I've always liked the Raiders a little also. Bo Jackson days.
Titans....My favorite team above all. It's the team I grew up loving, and that hasn't changed just because they play in a different city. Hell, I couldn't afford to go to the games at the Dome, so why does it matter that I can't attend their games now, either? No matter who they drafted, they've been my favorite team. But, I certainly love that VY ended up there....
But the only reason you started liking them was because they played in Houston, and their games were on every week.
My second favorite team (and first favorite before the Texans got here) is whoever is playing the Dallas Cowboys. That said, I'm pulling for the Bears this year.
When did this become a "please judge my allegiance to a team" thread? Were they on TV every week, though? I remember many weekends when they weren't on TV due to blackout restrictions. I remember loving reading the chronicle on Monday mornings to see the "report card" of the previous day's game, whether I saw it or not. Living in the Austin area since I attended UT, I've been able to see many of the Titans games the past 10 years. Plus, with the proliferation of The Dish, NFL ticket, internet, etc., I can follow any team as closely or closer than I have in the past. So, anyway, they are my team, and will continue to be my team. I don't know why so many people have a problem with Oilers fans becoming Titans fans....Sure, Bud Adams is a douche bag and the team broke a lot of hearts. But, I'll live or die with them. I like the Texans, but I'll always love the Titans. Big difference to me....
I assumed you were a Houston resident... so yes, I have a problem with Houstonians who still choose to root for a team that techinically no longer exists. (and you know everybody will just jump on that bandwagon when the Texans grab hold of some success).
My 2nd favorite team was the Titans up until McNair left this year, now its the Bears. But I've quietly adopted all the Chicago teams (aside from baseball where St.Louis has always been #2) as 2nd favs.
