Swift, 20, is leaning toward entering the June 28 NBA draft after learning teams view him as a high pick, the sources said. He had originally announced he would return to school, but, the sources said, that move was made mostly to deter agents from contacting him. Since LSU’s season ended, Swift’s mother, Mary Swift, and uncle, Joe Jones, have been calling NBA teams and league officials to gauge the big man’s stock. According to the NBA scouts contacted by HoopsTV.com, Swift is a lock lottery pick and could go as high as the top five. He has until May 14 to declare for the draft and has until June 21 to pull his name out – as long as he doesn’t hire an agent. During this past season, the 6-9, 229-pound Swift averaged 16.2 points, 8.2 boards and 2.8 blocks. His physical presence and athleticism have earned him comparisons to a young Shawn Kemp, though his game isfairly raw. Members of the LSU coaching staff could not be reached for comment on Thursday. Also, contrary to published reports, HoopsTV.com has learned that Florida’s Donnell Harvey has not yet signed with an agent and could still return to school, though that remains unlikely. Earlier today, the Gainesville Sun reported Harvey had signed with Los Angeles-based agent Dan Fagan. "I have not signed Donnell Harvey and have no intention of signing him he has fully explored his options on the upcoming draft," Fagan said.
