So I have to write this 4-5 page paper for a writing class over my choice of a film that can be defined as a documentary.

When I first heard of the project, I was like, "Sweet! Year of the Yao! Easy!" but it's not out yet.

So my question is, do any of you guys have any documentaries you particular enjoyed that I could write about, or if there was any... um... alternate way of acquiring Year of the Yao.

    Thanks.

Ditto on Grizzly Man. I saw some story about it but I haven't seen the movie itself and it looks pretty good.

The Corporation would give you plenty of material for a paper.

Some good documentaries in recent years have been:

Fog of War- You can probably write about this documentary the most. Its fairly easy and controversial topic.

    Spell Bound- about spelling bees

Grizzly Man- not much to discuss/debate on this film

My Architect- About a famous architect( Louis Kahn), not much to discuss though

Enron: The Movie- Interesting subject. Hard to come up with an interesting thesis for a subject such as this

Fahrenheit 911- most ppl will probably choose this

Super Size Me- about McDonald's. Would be fun to write about

Loose Change 911- If you really want to upset the establishment, write about this.

Capturing the Friedmans- I have it. Haven't seen it yet. One of the most talked about documentaries in recent years.

If you're a racing fan of any kind, Dust to Glory was pretty cool... though the narration was in dire need of a Morgan Freeman fix.

And don't forget March of the Penguins.

the last two i saw were

Spellbound - phenomenal and incredibly interesting, although I was one of those drones once so I suppose I can relate more personally

March of the Penguins - Morgan Freeman's voice literally makes an interesting movie into a national hit. Something about it draws audiences.
