1st off, to clear up any confusion, I said the 360 was the best selling home console in the title, so I wasn't including handhelds. Obviously, as the article says, the PSP is the best-selling system in the UK for 2006, but that's not the focus of this thread.

Basically, given this news (best selling, doubled sales, DOA #1 on charts, etc.), it seems like the 360 shipment problems are becoming less of an issue, at least in the UK, although I imagine the same can be said for the rest of the world (outside of Japan...who hasn't had any problems with supply not meeting demand ;)). I'm sure it might still be a while before MS is able to meet demand completely, but it is great to see the 360 in articles like these that suggest a large number of systems in stores. With the incredible March lineup for the 360 just on the horizon, we might start seeing more of these articles.

This has nothing to do with the UK, but I couldn’t hold off any longer and was in a local Best Buy the other day and they had a few 360s, Condemned and Call of Duty 2 so I cracked and bought them.. I kept telling myself to wait till PS3, but with Oblivion coming out soon I couldn’t wait any longer.. Hey, at least I lasted 3 months  I have a feeling I'll end up getting a PS3 too, but now that I've given up PC gaming I was having withdrawal and wanted something... I haven’t setup my Live account yet, but I look forward to playing online this week..

The Gamestop guys I know tell me they are now getting a steady stream of 360's on a weekly basis, and routinely selling out.

I think the 360 is going to have a huge Spring.

Also, let me officially say that Sony has finally managed to piss me off with their proprietary bull****:

Christ. C'mon Sony! Play nice with everyone! We are sick of the damn UMD's, beta tapes, minidiscs, 3 freaking Memory Stick types...

The MS Micro was announced a while back, wasn't it?

Eh, either way, I agree that this is getting a little ridiculous. The MS Duo is already "micro" enough IMO, and I don't really see the need for another one, especially if it is only needed to make phones smaller (again...is that necessary?). I think this is just an "answer" to a SD card of around the same size (MicroSD?), so I guess that's why Sony (and SanDisk?) did it. At least there are adapters for these new formats.
