Hey guys, I actually dedicated today to just suping up my PSP. I managed to get everything to work ranging from Super Nintendo, Nintendo, and Sega Genesis. Everything runs great. But the only problem im having now is Game Boy Advanced. I cant seem to find a good emulator anywhere for that. Im definitly looking forward to trying Metal Slug, Advanced Wars, & Golden Sun on here.

Can anyone help me? RC? DaDakota?

I didn't think they had any GBA emulators (or at least good ones), but here's one that I found after a quick search:
    http://pspupdates.qj.net/2005/10/psp-gba-v11-released.html

Not sure how well it works though. I am under the impression that it is a bit harder to emulate the GBA than the other systems, and the others aren't even perfectly emulated yet (outside of maybe the NES).

GBA (last I heard, a few months ago) Isn't working too well. SNES/NES/GB were probably the best ones. Genesis worked pretty well too.

    Extremely ignorant question coming up:

What exactly is an "emulator". I know its a way to play old video games on the computer. Or atleast I think.

But is there a way to play old nintendo games on PSP, or Xbox or Playstation or anything? I would kill to be able to do that!

You answered your own question. An emulator is a program that mimics, or "emulates" another system/program.

There are NES/SNES/Genesis emulators for XBox and PS2, but you need a modchip to run them.

If you're just looking for a good NES emulator for a console, I highly recommend putting $25 on a Sega Dreamcast as no modchip is required for emulation However, the only systems it can run at fullspeed are NES, Sega Master System, and Gameboy/Gameboy Color.

Oh btw, a decent PC will run everything up to N64 fullspeed if you'd rather not bother with burning discs for your console. Just get a decent controller, download the programs and roms and you're good to go.

    Emulators:

    roms:

    www.planetemu.net

    French site, but extremely reliable.

Can you guys let me know whenever you find out cool stuff for the psp? Ill definitly do the same. I actually got a copy of grand theft auto liberty city stories for christmas, but im too scared to upgrade to 2.0. Cause i dont want to lose all the cool emulators i have. Are you guys pretty experienced with the whole downgrade, upgrade deal? Is it safe to do?
