    $177=

or 344 tacos at jack in the box
    or 885 nuggets at wendys
or a ps2 or an xbox with an extra controller

psp. my goal for today was to get the emulators to
work, but im having the toughest time : (

I have the firmware version 2.01...

i tried following this guys instructions but they were so vague

    http://www.mobiledeviant.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1136&page=1&pp=10

if someone could take me through step by step and dumb it down, id reallllly appreciate it.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to run any homebrew programs on the 2.01 firmware. Sorry buddy. :p

Be VERY careful about using external stuff, you can get bricked...basically locking up your stystem, and since you used unapproved stuff you broke the Sony Waranty.

We're well aware of the implications of doing so, but thanks DD.

    Miguel,

I have 2 PSPs for (ehem) research...one is the original 1.5 OS with me running Homebrew apps, including all the old SNES stuff, and the 2nd is at 2.0 and running all the latest games.

I will NEVER upgrade the first one.

    :)

I updated my PSP to the 2.0 firmware. GTA:LCS requiered me to update or I could'nt play. I thought about downgrading back to 1.5 but GTA:LCS is so much fun and I did'nt want to risk "bricking" my PSP so I bought a used 1.5 from eBay solely for emulators and other hacks.

www.pspupdates is a cool site for those running 1.5

Most emulators I used on 1.5 now work on 2.0, but I can always downgrade if necessary, but I kinda like sitting in my livingroom and browsing espn.com/wap or wahtever the site is and read stuff while getting out of my room for a bit. Plus, I don't think I can give up my AVC encoded videos and wallpaper.

I'm joining yobod in my new ownership of a PSP so I'll hijack his thread for my own personal gains.

As I said, I just bought a PSP and the firmware is version 1.51 so I had a couple of questions:

    1) Does this basically mean there's no point in NOT upgrading to version 2.0? If I understand right, the problems with emulators and homebrews are fixed in any version above 1.5.

    2) If I do or don't upgrade, which emulators would you guys recommend and have you guys had any problems with your PSP locking up?

I'm leaning towards upgrading anyway because the browser, the wallpapers and all the new games are calling for me.

I believe you can downgrade from 2.0, although I don't know too much about it since I haven't done it. I think some homebrew still work on 2.0 as well, but anything above 2.0 will probably mean little to no homebrew for you.

I haven't messed with emulators in a while so I don't really have too many suggestions there. No problems with lockups either.
