Ha Ha. I will truly enjoy every loss Dallas has this season. Especially when I can read gems like these. "Bold prediction.......We will struggle to get the 8th seed" all these and more can be found at your local Mavericks Forum http://p073.ezboard.com/fdallasbasketballdotcomfrm2.showMessage?topicID=16998.topic
1. Spurs 2. Rockets 3. Suns 4. Mavericks 5. Nuggets 6-8 up for grabs (Timberwolves, Clippers, Warriors, Grizzlies, Lakers, Seattle)
I dont hate Utah anymore. its not the same Karl Malone/Stockton/Ostertag team that Rockets fans despise. There are really no punks on that team. its just a bunch of Euros now. I dislike Dallas much more.
It really sux that no matter how good of a record we put up if we finish behind the Spurs we'll be seeded fourth. That means that we only have guaranteed home court advantage for the first round!
You do know it's impossible for the Rockets to get the #2 seed and the Mavs to get the #4 seed? The division champions get the Top 3 seeds, meaning the Rockets would be the #4 seed and the Mavs, at best, would be the #5 seed.
u overrate the Mavs and IMO . . BEWARE of the CLIPPERS Cassell Mobley Maggette, Brand NOT BAD Rocket River
Yeah. The Jazz do still have Sloan, who coached Flopton and Karla and must have had something to do with the clothesline and flopping antics of those former stars; but these new guys don't seem to have read that old memo. Or Sloan is getting easy-pleezy in his old age (which I doubt).
I completely agree- you put these guys in any other uniforms as a team, and no one doubts that they nab a playoff spot.
I will cherish every single loss they have the entire season. Every time they lose makes my day so much better.
i think dallas will struggle this season. i think they will be the #6 at best. they should still make the playoffs but it isn't going to be easy. they've lost so much over the last two offseasons, they're a franchise headed right back where they started......crap.
my unbiased Eastern Conference perspective of the west race: 1. Spurs 2-8 up for grabs I'd be surprised if the Rockets weren't in the 2-5 range, but everything looks wide open to me.
They've lost a lot, but then again, they probably had the highest number of assets in the league. I'm not sure how good their 3 point shooting will be, but they have a lot of young solid players. Howard is looking good so far and Daniels looks solid. Christie sucks, but they still have Stackhouse. They have too much talent to not get 53-58 wins.
Homecourt in the NBA is decided by records, not seedings. So if the Spurs have the best record and the Rockets have the 2nd best, then the Rockets would have homecourt in the Conference finals if they beat the Spurs in the 2nd round. Considering it was a back-to-back, I don't put too much stock in this Dallas loss. But I am going to root hard against them, since they're likely our biggest rival for the 2nd best record in the west. All the other preseason contenders, Denver, Phoenix, and Sacramento are all sliding with injuries and/or poor play.
