It looks like I won't be having a job from this month until January, as I'm waiting to transfer to a new job.. so I figure why not make a few extra bucks between now and then. So my question is simple, what are some good holiday jobs for the Christmas season (late Nov-late Dec)? I'm sure some of you have worked a few and can offer some advice. (By good I mean the combined factor of decent pay and non-ass-busting/tedious work)
Sack groceries, deliver pizzas or bartend - all make tips and generally speaking in the holiday season people are more generous.
Donald, I may have a job for you. We may need a phone interview, however. I'll likely ask about your skills in the following areas: shoe shininig, dishwashing, bathroom cleaning (will require deep scrubbing skills for tub and toilet cleaning), delicate garmet hand washing (silk drawers, yo!), garbage removal, pizza pickup, chinese food pickup, golf tee time appointment scheduling, and possibly a few more areas. The financial upside will be limited, but the knowledge gained by being my personal servant will be something you can carry with you forever.
Hmm. I was just told places like Ikea and Pottery Barn are good for the holidays.. anyone here that can testify?

Go work somewhere that you would take advantage of a discount. My mom was bored right after she retired and went and worked at Williams Sonoma just so she could get the 40% discount. We bought the whole damn store.
Not a bad idea. I bet Fry's hires a ton of holiday help. I don't know if that is the best place to work though.. everyone I know either hates working there or hates shopping there, I wonder if there is even an employee discount?
Work in a stock room at a toy store. Figure out what the "hot" toys will be this year. Buy some before they hit the floor, then sell them on Ebay. I knew a guy that worked at Target when I was in high school. He made more on the side selling the hot Starting Lineup figures, Tickle Me Elmos, and before Christmas Nintendo 64's than he did in his paycheck.
