    I value school as well, but the opportunity to create a memory of being at an event that has never happened in Houston before and will last the rest of one's life is worth a day off school (if they indeed did stay home).

    I was at 22 innings of the 24 inning game and had the option to stay home from school the next day. I chose to go to school because I had a story to tell. I suspect a number of the kids last night chose school as well.

    I, too, grow weary of the ugly Houstonians. There should be a person at the gates that filters them out.

    BTW - my buddy offered me a ticket but I promised my wife one night at home...tonight...The seat he had for me was right next to Mathew McConaughey. Damn. A fellow horn.
