One game to win, any pitcher, ever? Oh boy...thats tough. I would take Whitey Ford. Crafty lefty who knew how to win. Cy Young or Walter Johnson or Lefty Grove or Christy Mattewson or Bob Gibson or Sandy Koufax or Don Drysdale... I could go on and on (as if I haven't already ) But I would take Whitey for the big game. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.
hee! yeah Bobfinn*, face the facts. Your past or future fantasy league projections of Pedro aren't going to cut it, man. He's the real deal, and 165lbs at that! ------------------
Have you seen a slider with that much movement?????!!??!?!?!??!??!?!??!!! ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
I'm not a big baseball fan, but I have a lot of respect for Pedro's skills, he is simply amazing. ------------------
I know what Pedro can do against this crop of hitters, with these tightly wound baseballs, in these tiny parks...I have no idea what Whitey Ford or any other guy would do against them. I take Pedro. Maybe Koufax. ------------------
With all due respect to Mr. 40+ games a year Koufax (my hero), I take Pedro*. Another simple thing we are forgetting MadMax, is neither Whitey nor Sandy had to deal with designated hitters!!! Fenway DHs and only 32 games started Pedro* is producing the best 5 yr stretch EVER. Have some respect! And Bob*...speaking of Lefties...I'd take that wicked lefty Carlton over Seaver any game.
