Under the terms of the agreement, Apple will offer free replacements for iPods with a faulty battery or a $50 credit to be spent on Apple products or $25 cash. The deal is limited to iPods sold in the US before 31 May 2004.

Awesome! I bought my iPod in April 2004. It works fine, but can I still get a replacement iPod? Mine is a little scratched up...:D

I believe they mean replacement battery, which only costs like $15-20 anyway.

But they were charging 99$ before. So that is much better.

I am pretty sure they do give you a "New" ipod and not just a battery replacement. So you lose your songs but get a new case ect...I could be wrong, but I read that somewhere so I think it's true.

The settlement leaves it up to the Apple to determine if you get a new battery or a new iPod.

That would suck to get a new ipod...Just to recover all the songs I would lose would be a total pain in the ass.

If anything happens to my songs, someone is going 6 feet under.

I just got my 20 gb I-pod this year, but it seems to get drained in like 4-5 hrs, so what would you do if you believe you have a faulty battery?

Who in the blue hell listens to 20 gigs of music??? well, obviously, you do. It was more of a shocked rhetorical question. :)

If you have a 1st or 2nd generation Ipod you can't get a replacement, you have to choose between a $25 check or a $50 Apple product voucher.

I have a 2nd generation and my Ipod only runs for about 4 hours if I fully charge it.
