Eddy Curry treated for irregular heartbeat

CHICAGO -- Chicago center Eddy Curry was being treated for an irregular heartbeat, and was expected to miss the Bulls' game against Cleveland on Thursday night, the team said.

He did not fly back with the Bulls from Charlotte on Thursday morning. Curry was a late scratch from Chicago's 102-99 win over the Bobcats on Wednesday night with what the team called "flulike symptoms."

"Right before the game, I felt some lightheadedness and dizziness. It came out of nowhere, so it really kind of scared me a little bit," Curry said after the game.

The Bulls' chartered plane had equipment problems after the game and the team was forced to spend the night in a Charlotte hotel, where Curry was monitored overnight.

The 6-foot-11, 285-pound Curry has started 60 games for Chicago this season and leads the team in scoring at 16.1 points per game, averaging five rebounds and nearly 29 minutes per game. He is shooting 54 percent from the field.

Curry is in his fourth season after making the jump from a suburban Chicago high school to the pros, and had scored at least 25 points in each of his two previous games. Chicago took a seven-game winning streak into Thursday night's game.
