So if it was left up to the BBS, the race would be between an unproven rookie and a pitcher who still hasn't recovered from an injury. I don't know, but I'd go with the kid that hasn't been hurt.
well what are the other choices... from the list above we have seen them all except astacio. The other guys have proved they can not cut it. i want carlos because he is a lefty but if he can not throw in the 90's anymore give astacio a shot to either put up ok numbers or fail like the other ones.
Sigh.... Astros.com : "Andy Pettitte sprained his ankle walking down stairs at his home on Friday." So he didn't start today.
Hernandez put up a good outing also From astros.com Left-hander Carlos Hernandez, who is attempting to nail down the fifth spot in the rotation, pitched four scoreless innings in an intrasquad "B" game at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee on Saturday morning. Hernandez threw 48 total pitches, allowing just one hit. He struck out six and did not issue any walks as the Buffs beat the Colt .45s, 2-0. "I thought he threw the ball very well today," Garner said. "He located his fastball well, changed his speeds." Hernandez retired 11 consecutive batters before allowing a hit in the fourth inning to infielder Tommy Whiteman. Hernandez was 9-4 with a 3.60 ERA in 23 starts at Triple-A New Orleans last season and 1-3 with a 6.43 ERA in nine starts with the Astros. He missed the entire 2003 season after undergoing surgery to repair a small tear of the labrum and another in the rotator cuff on his left shoulder on Feb. 4, 2003. Right-hander Pete Munro also pitched four innings in the "B" game as the opposing starter for the Colt .45s. Munro gave up two runs on five hits, struck out three and hit one batter. He did not walk anyone and threw 43 pitches.
No silence here. Even Chris Holt threw a one-hit CG. In other news, what gives with freaking Moises Pettitte? Hey Andy, try pissing on your feet so they can grip the freaking stairs more solidly.
Burba had a good showing on Sunday against The Big Unit.....not gonna get too excited but ill give him some brownie pts.....
Scratch Munro off the list http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/3088100 The Astros said today they have requested waivers on right-handed pitcher Pete Munro for the purpose of granting him an unconditional release.
