Yeah 5-1 and one baby tied for best record in teh AFC , We beat the Chiefs and i didnt think we would , This time Janikowski had to make the field goal . he saved his own hide . Wow the AFC West is sitting in the paml of our hands , Jon Gruden for coach of the year! Raiders doing good this year , sure hope the same for our Rockets

I agree with your assessment of the Raiders. They are for real this year and should win the AFC West. Gruden appears to be a very good coach.

The only question remaining is can they beat the Broncos and I think they can. Have these teams already played each other this year? Just curious...

    Titan's fanatic!!!!

It was the first time the Titans sent an offense to the line of scrimmage with Eddie George in the backfield behind McNair to go with Wycheck at tight end and Carl Pickens, Kevin Dyson and Yancey Thigpen at wide receiver.

So many choices, with a full season still ahead.

"I think that might be scary for a defense," Dyson said.

The Raaaaaiders are talented defensively, but you know what, your downfall will continue to be, and always will be, your penalties. They hurt in the playoffs. You simply can't make those kind of mistakes against the better teams. Your 5-1 record is impressive. No argument aganist that. The Raiders have put it together. Gannon has improved, but the reality is that he is still Rich Gannon. He's never really accomplished anything has he?

    Titans are the most balanced
    Raven are best defensive team
    Bills have no running game
    Miami, this can't last
    Denver, too young and inexperienced
KC, Best home field useless in playoffs
    Pittsburgh, lost half the time
    Jaguars, Still very talented
Jets, good balance as well, need Vinny
    Indy, Still, too young.

I have to disagree PSJ ,The Raiders defense is ranked 27th in teh league right now . Gannon did it all yesterday against the Chiefs . Rich Gannon was never given the chance to prove himself in Kansas City ,He showed them which QB is better . Would Gannon have won the Denver KC playoff game in 1997? Who knows Rich was 28-33 yesterday for a passer rating of 118.5 .

Actually ChrisP I was listening to JT The Brick (Way better than Rome) last night And he made a great point , The Raiders might not have to worry about beating Denver , If we lose big Deal , The last 6 game on our schedule or Against teams like Atlanta , Pittsburgh , New Orleans , Carolina , and Seattle . If we lose to Denver it might not matter .

True. An easy schedule is a perfect recipe for maintaining the lead.

Dream34 - Yes, they have played the Broncos already this year (at home) and they lost.

Raiders may be in the driver's seat in the West right now, but they better keep one eye on the rearview mirror. Trailing by 2 games and owning the tie breaker is not exactly insurmountable. The Broncos have been known to spoil a Raiders postseason party before and this team is one year (and one HOF quarterback) removed from the Super Bowl title.

Sorry Moe, I'm a Bronco fan and, as such, am required by law to hate the Raydahs. [IMG] However, since I don't want to just poop on your thread... I must say I'm impressed with the 5-1 record. They are playing surprisingly well so far this year.

That schedule is wimpy. The problem you have is that the AFC central is relatively weak after the Titans and Ravens. That means those teams will have great records to. Homefield is going to be a war and you'd better hope the Titans don't get it. AFC east will all have average records except for maybe the Jets. They could win 11 or 12. I see you finishing second behind the Titans.

Atlanta - Has potential, but seems like they have major problems on the offensive line and defensive line. J. Anderson rattled without a strong passing attack. 24-17 W

Pittsburgh - Limited offensively. If you focus on Bettis you should win. 31- 13 W

New orleans - Coming on, but Raiders should handle them. 21 - 17 W

    Carolina - Could be a War. 28-24 L

    Seattle - Please. 24 - 3 W

I have figured out why the Raiders are winning . Gruden is doing something in the Locker Room at Halftime , I mean the Raiders have given up 6 points in the 3rd Quarter this season . 6 points ?!?! , against high powered offenses like Denver , Indy , and San Francisco ?? Whatever Gruden is doing it must be working

I feel ya Moe, but I'm hesitant to get too excited because they always fall back to around .500. Also, Janikowski has been HORRIBLE thus far. I'm glad he pulled it out Sunday though.
